Job Description

As a Customer Service Engineer, you will serve as a highly experienced technical specialist responsible for complex service interventions, advanced troubleshooting, customer relationship management, and mentoring less experienced engineers. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers and a technical resource for the broader service organization while driving service quality, operational excellence, and business growth.

We are looking for laboratory scientists with experience in operating and troubleshooting instruments in the fields of material characterization (IR, UV, TEA), chromatography (GC, LC, GC-MS, LC-MS), or inorganic chemistry (AA, ICP-OES, ICP-MS). Laboratory scientists who are looking to change their career path and want to apply their expertise in a customer-focused role are also very welcome. Comprehensive onboarding and training in the relevant technologies and areas of work will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Expertise

Perform advanced installation, maintenance, qualification activities on analytical systems

Lead resolution of complex technical issues and escalations

Provide advanced remote and on-site troubleshooting support

Support complaint investigations and root cause analysis

Act as a technical escalation point within the service organization

Customer Partnership

Develop long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders

Serve as trusted technical advisor for laboratory optimization and instrument utilization

Identify customer needs and recommend upgrades, services, and solutions

Support customer retention through exceptional service delivery

Coaching and Knowledge Transfer

Mentor and coach junior service engineers

Support onboarding and technical training activities

Share best practices and technical expertise across the service team

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Business Contribution

Identify service opportunities and qualified sales leads

Collaborate closely with commercial teams

Provide customer and market feedback to product and service leadership

Support achievement of regional service objectives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree or technical education in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline

+3 years of successful field service experience with analytical instrumentation

Advanced expertise with analytical systems and laboratory workflows

Proven track record of resolving complex technical challenges

Demonstrated customer relationship management skills

Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced colleagues

Fluent German and strong English language skills

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively

Auch Laborwissenschaftler, die sich beruflich neu orientieren und ihre fachliche Expertise künftig in einer kundenorientierten Tätigkeit einsetzen möchten, sind ausdrücklich willkommen. Eine umfassende Einarbeitung und Schulung in die relevanten Technologien und Aufgabenbereiche wird bereitgestellt.

Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten:

Technische Fachkompetenz

Durchführung anspruchsvoller Installations-, Wartungs- und Qualifizierungsarbeiten an analytischen Systemen

Leitung der Lösung komplexer technischer Probleme und Eskalationen

Bereitstellung von anspruchsvollem Support zur Fehlerbehebung per Fernzugriff und vor Ort

Unterstützung bei der Untersuchung von Reklamationen und der Ursachenanalyse

Funktion als technische Eskalationsstelle innerhalb der Serviceorganisation

Kundenpartnerschaft

Aufbau langfristiger Beziehungen zu wichtigen Kundenvertretern

Funktion als vertrauenswürdiger technischer Berater für die Laboroptimierung und den optimalen Einsatz der Geräte

Ermittlung der Kundenbedürfnisse und Empfehlung von Upgrades, Dienstleistungen und Lösungen

Förderung der Kundenbindung durch herausragende Servicequalität

Coaching und Wissenstransfer

Betreuung und Coaching von Nachwuchsserviceingenieuren

Unterstützung bei der Einarbeitung und bei technischen Schulungsmaßnahmen

Weitergabe von Best Practices und technischem Fachwissen im gesamten Serviceteam

Mitwirkung an Initiativen zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserung

Beitrag zum Geschäftserfolg

Identifizierung von Servicechancen und qualifizierten Vertriebsleads

Enge Zusammenarbeit mit den Vertriebsteams

Weiterleitung von Kunden- und Marktfeedback an die Produkt- und Serviceleitung

Unterstützung bei der Erreichung regionaler Serviceziele

Qualifikation:

Hochschulabschluss oder technische Ausbildung in Chemie, Analytischer Chemie, Chemieingenieurwesen, Elektronik, Mechatronik oder einem verwandten Fachgebiet

+3 Jahre erfolgreiche Erfahrung im Außendienst mit Analysegeräten

Fundierte Fachkenntnisse in analytischen Systemen und Laborabläufen

Nachweisbare Erfolge bei der Lösung komplexer technischer Herausforderungen

Nachgewiesene Fähigkeiten im Kundenbeziehungsmanagement

Erfahrung in der Betreuung oder Unterstützung weniger erfahrener Kollegen

Flüssige Deutschkenntnisse und sehr gute Englischkenntnisse

Gültiger Führerschein und Bereitschaft zu umfangreichen Dienstreisen
