Cyber Security Engineer

Softmason Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Engineer to help protect our organization's systems, networks, and applications from cyber threats. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment, security monitoring, incident response, and implementing security best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of business data.

Key Responsibilities

• •Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity incidents and security alerts.
• •Perform vulnerability assessments and security risk analysis.
• •Conduct penetration testing and recommend remediation measures.
• •Monitor firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and endpoint security solutions.
• •Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.
• •Perform security audits and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
• •Investigate security breaches and prepare incident reports.
• •Manage user access, identity, and access management (IAM).
• •Configure and maintain network security devices.
• •Secure cloud environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• •Collaborate with IT teams to implement secure system configurations.
• •Provide cybersecurity awareness training to employees.
• •Maintain documentation related to security controls and incidents.
• •Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

Required Skills

• •Knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security.
• •Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, OpenVAS, or Qualys.
• •Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and web application security.
• •Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, or ELK).
• •Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Active Directory security.
• •Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and common networking protocols.
• •Basic scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash is preferred.
• •Experience with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• •Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualification

• •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
• •Relevant certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA Security, Microsoft Security, AWS Security, or equivalent are preferred.

Experience

• •0–3 years of experience in Cyber Security, Information Security, or Network Security.
• •Experience with Security Operations Center (SOC) activities is an advantage.
