Data is at the heart of procurement. Do you want to make that data AI-ready — powering not just insight but autonomous decision-making and action at a global scale? As a Data Engineer on the Global Procurement Technology team, you will build the data foundation that drives AI transformation across Amazon's procurement organization. You will design and deliver data solutions end to end: creating supplier entity relationships, aggregating supplier data, enabling supplier performance and risk analysis, and providing supplier sourcing recommendations worldwide.

Your work will directly shape how procurement teams make decisions and how AI applications consume and act on trusted supplier data. You will partner with software engineers, scientists, business intelligence engineers, and business stakeholders to turn complex, multi-source datasets into reliable data products. If you enjoy solving ambiguous data problems and want your solutions to influence procurement strategy globally, we want to hear from you.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • - Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data models that support procurement analytics, supplier mapping, and the trusted supplier data repository.
  • - Create logical and physical data models across large datasets from multiple internal and external sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • - Build self-service data infrastructure and curated datasets that let business intelligence engineers, scientists, and business teams access reliable data on their own.
  • - Collaborate with software engineers, scientists, and product and program managers to turn business requirements into well-documented, high-performing data solutions.
  • - Evaluate generative AI tooling for data workflows where appropriate, contributing to the team's broader AI transformation efforts.
  • A day in the life
  • Your morning is your focused time. You might spend it building new solutions, improving existing systems, solving operational issues, or pairing with a nearby EU colleague or stakeholder to work through a technical question. In the afternoon, the overlap with North America opens up and the pace shifts. This is when most team meetings, design reviews, and joint problem-solving with your NA counterparts happen. You will join sprint ceremonies with your agile squad, walk through designs with peers, and align with product and program managers on priorities. The rhythm gives you dedicated heads-down hours each day balanced with regular cross-timezone collaboration.
  • About the team
  • Global Procurement Technology sits within Global Procurement Operations and builds the data and technology products that power Amazon's procurement processes worldwide. Our key products include the supplier mapping framework, the trusted supplier data repository, and the supplier management system. The team is an agile group of data engineers, software engineers, scientists, and product and program managers, with Principal Engineers in the broader organization providing technical guidance. You will have the chance to build skills across engineering disciplines, and the team's collaborative setup means you can grow by contributing to software, data, and AI work alike.
