Data Engineering Lead

We help millions of people create homes they love

In the beginning, in 2016, we were just two best friends working on a simple idea: how to make it super easy to turn your favorite smartphone photos into awesome wall art.

Today, we have multiple product lines with millions of customers, including Mixtiles, Mixtiles Art, Easyplant, and Oasis. And we're shipping new products every year.

We love what we do, and we love people who love what they do. If you're that kind of person, read on.

Small team = a lot of impact

We’re ~100 people, with wildly diverse skill sets, serving millions of customers. Each of us drives a lot of impact. Your work will matter

Products people love

Working on products you & your family personally use creates a feeling of connection, fun, and spreads good karma

Our secret formula = make it easy to use

It’s how we re-invented the picture frame, and then the houseplant. It’s how we got to millions of customers. It’s pure design, and people love it

Solve hard, real world problems

Every day, we handle extreme challenges in user experience, manufacturing and scale for which we use tech like AI, AR & robotics

A real business, built to last

We believe great products have great unit economics. That’s why Mixtiles is a high growth company that’s also profitable

About Mixtiles

Mixtiles is a $300M profitable brand reinventing how homes feel. Wall photos. Self-watering plants. Smart lighting. Loved by millions. Growing fast. Built lean.

Why this role matters

At Mixtiles, data isn't just for dashboards - it's the nervous system of our future products. As we expand into smart lighting (Oasis) and living tech (Easyplant), we need to process massive streams of IoT signals and power real-time AI. You won't just maintain a warehouse; you will architect the platform that connects our physical products to the digital world.

What you’ll do

Build the "Brain" : Architect the next-gen data platform capable of handling high-volume IoT streams and integrating AI capabilities into our daily operations.

Code the Core: This is a hands-on role. You won’t just manage; you’ll be deep in Python, DBT, and Airflow, building and optimizing the pipelines yourself.

Scale for Complexity: We are growing from one product to a multi-brand ecosystem. You will ensure our data infrastructure evolves to support diverse business lines without becoming a bottleneck.

Democratize Insights: Build a system so robust and intuitive that every engineer, product manager, and marketer can self-serve the data they need to build better products.

Who you are

An Architect Who Codes: You lead by example. You prefer writing a script to writing a Jira ticket.

Modern Stack Native: You live in the cloud and speak fluent Python. You know DBT and Airflow inside out.

IoT Ready: You are excited by the challenge of moving beyond standard transactional data into the messy, high-volume world of hardware and sensors.

Impact-Obsessed: You don't build technology for its own sake. You build it to solve real business problems and create products people love.
