Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, and maintain IBM DB2 databases in production and non-production environments.

Manage and support Netezza or Cassandra databases for performance, availability, and scalability.

Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.

Monitor database health, storage, backups, and recovery processes.

Analyze and resolve database performance issues using tuning and optimization techniques.

Create and maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.

Support application teams with database design, schema changes, and query optimization.

Implement database security, user management, and access controls.

Automate routine DBA activities through scripting and tools.

Troubleshoot database incidents and provide root cause analysis (RCA).

Ensure database compliance, governance, and operational standards are followed.

Coordinate with infrastructure, application, and support teams for production deployments.

Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and monitoring dashboards.

Participate in on-call support and critical issue resolution.
