Deputy Group Manager – PTP SME

We are seeking a seasoned Finance Transformation consultant specializing in Accounts Payable (AP) to to drive process optimisation, AI-enabled automation, and operational efficiency. This role requires a blend of consulting expertise, AI tool proficiency, and operational delivery capability to implement transformative improvements while ensuring business continuity. The ideal candidate will combine solid P2P functional knowledge with practical skills in deploying AI copilots, intelligent automation solutions across the AP lifecycle. a. AP Process Transformation & AI Implementation • Support development and execution of AP process transformation roadmaps with AI and automation milestones embedded at each phase. • Identify and implement AI use cases across invoice capture, PO matching, exception handling, and payment processing. • Configure and deploy intelligent automation tools including AI-OCR, RPA bots, and Generative AI copilots in AP workflows. • Champion Lean and Six Sigma methodologies augmented with AI diagnostics to drive continuous improvement. b. AI & Technology Execution in P2P • Execute digital transformation initiatives including AI-driven invoice processing, OCR integration, and ERP-native intelligent automation. • Configure and operate AP automation tools on platforms such as SAP S/4HANA Intelligent Invoice Management, Microsoft Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and RPA platforms. • Develop and test Prompt Engineering scripts for Generative AI applications in AP (invoice extraction, exception summarisation, vendor query response). • Monitor AI model outputs for accuracy, exception rates, and STP improvements; escalate anomalies to the Transformation Leader. • Stay current on emerging AP AI technologies including Agentic AI, large language models for finance, and AI-native ERP features. c. Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination • Build and maintain strong working relationships with AP managers, procurement leads, and vendor contacts to align AI transformation goals. • Collaborate with global finance teams to ensure standardisation and compliance in AI-augmented AP workflows. • Support vendor negotiations and technology evaluations from a functional AP and AI capability perspective. d. Operational Excellence & Compliance • Define and track KPIs including touchless invoice rate, AI exception resolution rate, STP %, cost-per-invoice, and on-time payment. • Ensure adherence to financial governance, regulatory requirements (GST, Peppol, VAT), and AI ethics policies. • Perform periodic audits of AP controls, fraud risk exposure, and AI model integrity. e. Consulting & Change Management • Drive AP process improvement initiatives using AI diagnostics, process mining insights, and intelligent benchmarking data. • Support structured change management covering AI adoption readiness, team reskilling, and communication planning. • Deliver training sessions on AI-augmented AP tools, Prompt Engineering basics, and Copilot usage for finance teams. f. Delivery & Communication • Prepare AP transformation deliverables including AI use case assessments, business cases, solution design documents, and implementation trackers. • Present progress updates, AI impact metrics, and recommendations to Transformation Leaders and client finance leads. • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, AI-first thinking, and operational accountability. AI Skills & Competency Framework – P2P AI Skill Domain Required Proficiency / Tools Generative AI for AP Working knowledge of LLM-based copilots for invoice extraction, exception summarisation, and vendor query automation; basic Prompt Engineering AI Automation Tools Hands-on with Microsoft Power Automate, Copilot Studio, UiPath or Automation Anywhere for AP workflow automation Intelligent Document Processing Practical experience with AI-OCR tools (ABBYY, Opentex, Kofax) for structured and unstructured invoice processing AI-Augmented Reporting Power BI with AI features, exception dashboards, STP reporting; ability to interpret AI-generated insights for AP operations Process Mining Basics Ability to run and interpret process mining analyses (Celonis, SAP Signavio) to identify AI improvement opportunities in P2P ERP-Native AI Features SAP S/4HANA Intelligent Invoice Management, ; Oracle AI for Payables; AP automation features AI Ethics & Data Handling Understanding of responsible AI principles, data privacy requirements, and auditability standards in AP AI deployments Prompt Engineering Ability to design, test, and refine prompts for Generative AI use cases in invoice processing, exception handling, and vendor communications • Deep expertise in P2P / AP processes, procurement finance, and shared services environments. • Consulting experience in finance transformation, AI-enabled automation, and process reengineering. • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Workday) and AI-native AP automation platforms. • Practical ability to configure, test, and deploy AI and automation tools in AP production environments. • Strong analytical skills to quantify AI impact and communicate results to operational and management audiences. • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across finance, IT, and operations. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client-facing delivery • MBA, CA, or CPA qualification will be an advantage. • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, AI for Finance, Microsoft Power Automate, Copilot Studio, or SAP S/4HANA. • Experience in global finance transformation and shared service centre environments. • Familiarity with e-invoicing mandates (India GST, EU Peppol) and AI compliance implications in AP.
