Job Description (JD)
Title: SCADA Execution Head – Solar/Wind/Substation Projects
Location: Site Based- (Base Location: Bharuch, need to travel- PAN INDIA as per Business requirement)
Industry: Renewable Energy – Solar/Wind
Experience: 10–20 Years
Role Overview:
Experienced SCADA Execution Head to lead end-to-end SCADA/PPC/SAS/Telemetry system execution for large-scale solar projects connected to STU & CTU substations . The candidate will be responsible for design coordination, execution, testing, commissioning, and compliance with grid connectivity requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complete SCADA/PPC/SAS/Telemetry system execution for utility-scale solar projects connected to State Transmission Utility (STU) / Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUL) substations.
- Ensure compliance with Central Electricity Authority (CEA) regulations and grid connectivity standards.
- Coordinate with SLDC/RLDC/NLDC for telemetry, real-time data integration, and grid synchronization approvals.
- Manage SCADA architecture including:
- Data loggers
- RTUs
- PPC (Power Plant Controller)
- Weather monitoring systems
- String/central inverter communication
- Interface with OEMs, EPC teams, protection & control teams, and STU/CTU substation authorities.
- Ensure proper integration with SAS (Substation Automation System).
- Lead FAT, SAT, and end-to-end commissioning activities.
- Review communication protocols (IEC 60870-5-104, Modbus, OPC, IEC 61850).
- Ensure cybersecurity compliance as per grid requirements.
- Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and execution quality.
- Handle troubleshooting during commissioning and post-synchronization.
- Prepare documentation including:
- SLD inputs
- Communication architecture drawings
- Telemetry point list
- Approval documents
Technical Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of:
- STU/CTU connectivity procedures
- SCADA & PPC integration
- Grid code compliance
- SAS systems
- Experience in projects connected to ISTS network.
- Hands-on experience in telemetry approval from RLDC.
- Knowledge of protection relay integration & disturbance recorder data.
- Familiarity with remote monitoring platforms and cybersecurity frameworks.
Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Solar/Wind SCADA execution.
- Experience handling ≥100 MW utility-scale projects preferred.
Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Team Leader
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to coordinate with STU, CTU, RLDC, OEMs, and EPC partners.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in large ISTS-connected solar parks.
- Prior experience in SCADA integration at 220kV / 400kV substations.
- Exposure to hybrid (Solar + BESS) projects will be an added advantage.
