The Design Manager serves as the Owner's Representative responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing the design process across large-scale capital projects at a semiconductor campus from project initiation through construction. This role provides leadership and oversight of multiple design consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure design deliverables are completed in accordance with project objectives, technical requirements, schedule milestones, and quality standards. The Design Manager serves as the central point of coordination between the owner, design teams, contractors, and project stakeholders, ensuring design activities remain aligned with project execution strategies and long-term program goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

7+ years of experience managing design development, design coordination, or project delivery on large-scale capital projects.

Experience supporting Design-Build, CM/GC, Progressive Design-Build, or other alternative delivery methods.

Strong understanding of engineering and design development processes across multiple disciplines.

Experience managing consultants, design firms, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex project schedules and coordinate multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead meetings and coordinate executive-level communication.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and document management systems.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as the Owner's Representative responsible for managing the overall design process from project initiation through final design completion.

Develop, implement, and maintain design management processes, procedures, and standards to support consistent project delivery.

Coordinate and manage design schedules across multiple disciplines, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.

Lead oversight of large-scale Design-Build, CM/GC, Progressive Design-Build, and other alternative delivery projects.

Manage design consultants and engineering firms to ensure timely delivery of design packages, studies, reports, calculations, and other project deliverables.

Establish and maintain project design execution plans, design schedules, and milestone tracking systems.

Facilitate coordination between owners, design teams, contractors, utilities, permitting agencies, and other project stakeholders.

Monitor design progress and proactively identify schedule impacts, technical risks, resource constraints, and execution challenges.

Manage and coordinate design review processes, stakeholder reviews, and comment resolution workflows.

Maintain design comment logs, action item trackers, and decision registers to ensure timely resolution of open issues.

Hold consultants, design partners, and other project stakeholders accountable for meeting project commitments, deliverables, and design schedules.

Lead design coordination meetings and facilitate communication between engineering disciplines, consultants, construction teams, and owner stakeholders.

Review design deliverables for completeness, quality, constructability, and alignment with project objectives.

Support value engineering efforts, risk assessments, and design optimization initiatives throughout project development.

Coordinate integration of design activities with permitting, procurement, utility coordination, and construction planning efforts.

Develop and maintain long-range project look-ahead schedules and forecasting tools across multiple project teams and workstreams.

Track key project decisions, technical risks, permitting requirements, and design dependencies that may impact project delivery.

Support executive reporting by preparing project status updates, schedule summaries, risk reports, and presentation materials.

Collaborate with project controls, construction management, and program management teams to ensure alignment between design and execution strategies.

Support constructability reviews and provide design leadership during preconstruction and construction phases.

Facilitate issue resolution among stakeholders and provide recommendations to leadership regarding project risks, schedule recovery opportunities, and design-related concerns.

Contribute to lessons learned, continuous improvement efforts, and development of best practices for design management across the organization.

Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.

Salary Range

$120,000 — $180,000 USD
