Job Description
Salary Up to £40,000 + 30% shift premium depending on experience
Location Stonehouse, Gloucestershire
We are currently recruiting for a number for CNC machinists within Low Volume Manufacturing working a 3 shift pattern (6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm & 10pm – 6am). The purpose of the role is to provide additional programming, setting and operating resource to support the increased production demand of specials and low volume production parts.
Responsibilities
Setting / Operating CNC machines (Milling or Turning) to the standard set and run times
Interpret drawings and use initiative in deciding tooling selection and the method of manufacture
Monitor the quality of components using a wide range of equipment including CMM inspection and complete departmental quality documentation
Generate new component part programmes with the aid of Gibbs CAM programming software and subsequent prove out of new processes
Key requirements
Applicants must have served an apprenticeship and have expertise in using a variety of CNC machine tools, including milling or turning
A sound knowledge of manufacturing methodology to ensure that new processes are both capable and efficient.
Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
Good PC skills are essential
Desirable requirements
A comprehensive knowledge of CNC machining with some programming knowledge is desirable.
Experience using a variety of inspection methods including CMMs
Expertise in the use of GibbsCam software would be desirable although full training will be provided for successful applicants
