The Propulsion Mechanic will be in charge of the operation, maintenance and repair of all diesel engines and related support systems to aid the success of the U.S. Navy’s Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on base.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, remove, install and test all diesel engines and related support systems
Support diesel engine maintenance and repair requirements
Provide hands ‑ on cleaning, inspections for all systems and report back accordingly
Assists broader mechanical repair workload, as needed
Prioritize maintenance tasks based on operational needs, system readiness, and safety considerations.
Manage the scheduling and execution of preventative, corrective, and emergent maintenance activities.
Implement and manage maintenance quality assurance practices to ensure conformance to technical, safety, and procedural standards
Evaluate performance, maintain accountability, and foster a culture of safety and high technical standards
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and mission focus across the team
Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
High School Degree Required
Navy EN-A-School or equivalent required
OEM diesel training, preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
Active Secret Security Clearance
Experience:
Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in similar role
At least five (5) years of experience with diesel, marine engine, heavy equipment or mechanical maintenance
Skills & Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
Familiarity with maintenance documentation, inspection processes, safety procedures, and technical work instructions
Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
High level problem-solving and communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Project management principles and practices
Ability to work with various levels of personnel including senior leadership
Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
