Location: Seattle Yard
Reports: Fleet Maintenance Manager / Operations Manager
Department: Fleet Operations
Schedule: Full-time. Schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call support depending on operational and fleet maintenance needs.
Pay Rate: $32-$42/hr
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Travel: Up to 25% travel depending on fleet support requirements and market needs.

About the Role
As a Diesel Fleet Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and operational readiness of Booster’s fleet assets. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on diesel-powered fleet vehicles, tanker systems, fueling equipment, and related operational assets.
This role operates in a fast-paced environment where equipment uptime is mission-critical to daily operations and customer service execution. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, responds with urgency, and can independently troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities
Fleet Reliability & Preventative Maintenance
Diagnostics & Repair Execution
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and operational issues quickly and accurately.
- Perform repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards.
- Utilize diagnostic software, tools, and testing equipment to troubleshoot vehicle and equipment issues.
- Prioritize repairs based on operational urgency and fleet availability needs.
- Return assets to service as quickly and safely as possible.
Operational Support
- Respond promptly to driver-reported defects, maintenance requests, and operational concerns within a 24-hour period.
- Support roadside troubleshooting and emergency repair situations when required.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours maintenance issues as needed.
- Communicate repair status, timelines, and operational impacts clearly to leadership and drivers.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with company policies, DOT regulations, environmental requirements, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspection documentation, and repair logs.
- Support fleet audit readiness and compliance initiatives.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments in shop and field settings.
Cross-Market & Field Support
- Travel to other Booster markets as needed to support fleet maintenance operations, launch activities, or major repair initiatives.
- Assist with field maintenance support during operational surges or high-priority business needs.
- You will work closely with Fleet Operations, Drivers, and Operational Leadership to ensure vehicles are maintained safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Operations and Fleet leadership to improve maintenance processes and fleet reliability standards.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of diesel technician or fleet maintenance experience.
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, tanker systems, preventative maintenance programs, and fleet repair operations.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues independently.
- Must possess personal tools and equipment necessary to perform job duties.
- Self-starter capable of working effectively with limited direct supervision.
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and sense of urgency.
- Comfortable using smartphones, email, digital work orders, and maintenance systems.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tanker, fuel delivery, or heavy fleet maintenance experience strongly preferred.
- ASE certifications and/or AC certifications preferred.
- Experience with DOT inspections and regulatory compliance.
- CDL license or experience working around CDL fleet operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems, pumps, fueling systems, and PTO systems preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-site or field-based fleet operations environments.
