What You'll Do:

As a Diesel Technician, you will diagnose, repair, maintain, and service Xylem's fleet of pumping and support equipment while delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and servicing on rental fleet equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, and pump-related issues.
  • Rebuild diesel engines and pump components as required.
  • Support customers and field personnel with equipment setup and startup activities at job sites.
  • Conduct equipment inspections, identify damage, and communicate findings to the Service Manager.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure quality, reliability, and safe operation.
  • Maintain company vehicles and shop support equipment.
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic tools to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in a monthly on-call rotation to support customers after hours.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of diesel mechanic experience, technical training, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of equipment repair, maintenance methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and safe operating procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Previous experience with pumps, fluid handling equipment, or heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment.

Hourly Rate: $30-$35 per hour

Starting pay is determined by factors such as experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
