Responsibilities of a Diesel Service Apprentice entail:

• •Shadow and assist experienced diesel technicians, learning fundamental repair and maintenance techniques.
• •Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, fluid checks, and component replacements under supervision.
• •Perform pre-delivery inspections on vehicles or equipment to ensure readiness.
• •Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper tool care and safety procedures.
• •Participate in training programs and workshops to develop knowledge of diesel systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
• •Assist with recordkeeping and documentation of work performed.

Requirements

The requirements to be a Diesel Service Apprentice for CIT Trucks, LLC include:

• •Must be at least 18 years old
• •High School diploma or GED required
• •Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
• •Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and DOT medical card
• •Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 120 pounds
• •Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
• •Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• •Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
• •Maintain professional appearance and attitude
• •Willingness and ability to complete training in a timely manner
