Job Summary:

The Operator, Digital Press is responsible for all aspects of operating the digital printing equipment to production and quality standards. Presses included under “Digital Press”: Indigo, Wide Format, Dye Sublimation, Onset, Durst, Vutek, Spyder.

Shift: 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM

Job Description:

• •Operate digital print equipment and the software necessary for print operations.
• •Complete jobs according to customer specifications in a timely and accurate manner.
• •Monitor production output throughout the run for quality.
• •Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal printing conditions.
• •Ensure materials for the job are in stock and available for production.
• •Properly document production information to account for all labor and materials consumed on a job.
• •Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• •Properly execute pressroom Safety Procedures.
• •Act as a resource to Apprentice and Feeder.
• •Troubleshoot with the help of the Lead Operator.
• •Work overtime as needed.
• •Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

• •High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• •Proficient in computer applications, including Mac and Windows operating systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

• •Previous print industry experience.
• •Experience using an ERP system.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• •Good written and oral communication skills.
• •Ability to follow documented procedures.
• •Ability to read and understand oral/written instructions proficiently.
• •Ability to read and understand tape measure and other measuring equipment.
• •Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
• •Reliability through attendance, punctuality, and attention to workstation.
• •Demonstrate a positive safety attitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• •Frequent walking and standing.
• •Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
• •Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.

• •Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• •Ability to visually inspect all work for defects and distinguish color.
