Build what the*spark centre can become

the*spark centre is being built as a platform for India’s social entrepreneurship ecosystem — bringing together entrepreneurs, funders, advisors, experts and ecosystem partners.

The physical centre is in place. The opportunity is still 0→1.

We are looking for a Director to shape the proposition, build the community, drive demand and create a financially sustainable model for the*spark centre.

This is a builder’s role, not simply a centre-management role. You will figure out what the ecosystem needs, test what works, build the customer base and turn the*spark centre into a place people want to use and be part of.

What you will do

1. Shape the proposition

Define what the*spark centre should offer, who it should serve and why people should choose it. Test and evolve offerings across co-working, events, conferences, training and programmes.

2.Drive business development & sustainability

Build demand and utilisation across the*spark centre.

  • Attract co-working members and users.
  • Build a pipeline for events, conferences, offsites and training.
  • Develop partnerships that bring recurring programmes and events.
  • Identify new customer segments and use cases.
  • Shape packages, pricing and the customer proposition.
  • Personally drive high-value BD and conversions.

This is a hands-on BD role — you should enjoy being out in the market, opening doors and turning relationships into sustained use of the*spark centre.

3.Build the community

Create a vibrant community of founders, funders, advisors, corporates and ecosystem leaders, making the*spark centre more than a physical space.

4.Activate the impact sector

Leverage the^delta and The/Nudge networks to bring people, organisations and opportunities into the*spark centre and deepen its connections across the impact sector.

5.Own financial sustainability

Own the P&L and build a high-quality, financially sustainable, break-even model — balancing affordability and accessibility with disciplined costs, utilisation and revenue.

6.Lead the team and operations

Lead a lean, entrepreneurial team and ensure an excellent experience. Own facilities, real estate partnerships, governance, compliance and day-to-day operations.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a 0→1 builder with strong business development instincts and a genuine enthusiasm for the impact sector.

You will bring:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience across business development, entrepreneurship, general management or strategic partnerships.
  • A track record of building something new and taking it to traction.
  • Strong BD, sales or market-development experience, ideally with P&L responsibility.
  • A strong network across social entrepreneurship, philanthropy, CSR, impact investing and the wider impact sector.
  • A genuine interest in the impact sector — its entrepreneurs, institutions, challenges and opportunities — and a desire to use your experience to create meaningful impact.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • The energy to spend significant time out in the market creating opportunities.
  • The ability to move between strategy and hands-on execution.
  • A bias towards experimentation, learning and action.

We are particularly open to leaders from corporate or entrepreneurial backgrounds who are excited to bring their experience into the impact sector and build something meaningful.

The person we are looking for

  • You look at the*spark centre today and see what it could become.
  • You are comfortable with a blank page. You enjoy figuring out what people need, opening doors, testing ideas and making things happen.
  • You are a builder, a relationship-maker and a business operator who is excited by the impact sector and wants to use your experience to help build something meaningful within it.
  • If you want to take an existing physical centre and build the proposition, demand, community and sustainable business around it from 0→1, this is that opportunity.
