We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join our growing team.

Our services span collectible trading cards, autographs, comic books, coins, video games, event tickets, and memorabilia. Our subsidiaries include PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder.

Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 3000 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana, California and offices in New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Japan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Germany, the UK, and France.

As part of our interview process, we request that candidates have their cameras on during video interviews. This helps foster meaningful conversation and allows us to create an experience that closely resembles our standard working environment. Certain interview steps may take place by phone. For remote roles, and at our discretion, candidates may be asked to participate in an on-site interview as part of the final stages of the process.

We understand there may be occasional circumstances requiring accommodation and are happy to discuss them as needed. Your recruiter will be able to clarify expectations and answer any questions you have.

Role Overview:

Collectors seeks a Director, Corporate Communications to lead and build the day-to-day corporate communications engine for Collectors Holdings and its portfolio brands, including PSA, Beckett, SGC, and PCGS. Collectors is a mature organization that is a recognized leader in the authentication, grading, marketplace, and vaulting of treasured collectibles. Our industry is fast-paced, rapidly growing both in scale and new collector passions, including TCG and comics. This role owns the work that connects our organization to our stakeholders and customers: issue response, executive platforms, and the financial and policy communications that guide our day-to-day engagement.

This is a builder role. The communications function is growing, and you'll help design the processes, playbooks, and team that create best-in-class strategy and execution.

You'll report to the Head of Communications; in-person, hybrid, and remote candidates considered.

What You'll Do:

Issues & Crisis Response

  • Serve as the first responder when issues surface, work through the facts with Legal, Product, Operations, and Customer Care, and recommend a strategy.
  • Build and maintain issues playbooks, holding statements, escalation paths, and social listening triggers in partnership with social, agency, and customer service partners.
  • Use verified first and third-party data and industry-level context to frame issues and formulate strategies and responses.
  • Track and correct how Collectors is described by media and platforms.

Executive Communications & Platforms

  • Prepare executives for media interviews, conferences, community events, and high-stakes announcements
  • Develop executive platform plans covering speaking opportunities, bylines, awards, and earned profile
  • Help define and enforce rules of engagement for leaders who are active on social media and in the hobby community

Stakeholder Communications

  • Partner with across teams for major enterprise events and investor-facing materials
  • Establish and maintain clear investor, customer, and public narratives
  • Prepare and manage disclosure to key audiences including our leaders, board and investors of major moments or events.

Media Relations & Corporate Narrative

  • Run proactive and reactive corporate media relations across business, financial, and trade press, using the enterprise narrative set by the Head of Communications
  • Work closely with our media relations leader to advance corporate strategies and narratives through earned storytelling
  • Own the cadence and execution of corporate milestones, acquisitions, partnerships, and leadership news, and coordinate with portfolio brand teams so corporate and brand stories don't collide
  • Write and edit corporate press releases, statements, Q&As, briefing documents, and key messages

Community & Social Partnership

  • Work with Social & Community leaders to keep high-visibility public conversations consistent with corporate positioning
  • Apply the guardrails and escalation paths for community and social engagement, and flag when a conversation needs a corporate response

Internal Communications Partnership

  • Partner with Internal Communications and People teams so employees hear major news from us first and can explain what it means
  • Provide talking points that help employees speak accurately about business units they don't work in

Team, Agencies & Measurement

  • Manage PR agency and vendor relationships, including scope, budget, and output
  • Run media monitoring, reporting, and measurement that informs strategy and makes us more accurate and nimble in our responses and positions.

Who You Are:

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, issues management, or public affairs, with at least part of that in-house
  • A track record managing issues and crises in real time, ideally ones that played out on social media first. Be ready to walk us through a live issue, the decisions you made, and what you'd change
  • Experience preparing senior executives for media and high-stakes moments, and the credibility to push back when the plan is wrong
  • Experience partnering with Finance and Legal on financial communications. Exposure to public-company or late-stage environments strongly preferred
  • Corporate media relations experience with sound judgment on when to engage, when to decline, and how to work with reporters in a high-stakes moment
  • Experience in marketplaces, fintech, consumer platforms, sports and entertainment, or enthusiast communities. Knowledge of the collectibles hobby is a plus
  • An excellent writer and editor who can turn complex facts into plain language fast
  • Calm judgment under pressure, and comfort raising problems early rather than managing around them
  • Experience managing and developing people, and comfort building process where none exists
  • Bachelor's degree required
