The purpose of this position is to orchestrate and influence the work of others to enhance Kaweah Health's mission and vision and to achieve strategic priorities of the nursing division. Demonstrates high-level leadership accountability focused on safety and the requisite infrastructures necessary to meet expectations of the patients and families served.

Seeking strong experienced Emergency Department Director. Extremely Busy 70+ bed ED with 100,000 visits per year. Level 3 Trauma Center . Eight manager direct reports and over 300 employees in the Department. Applications must include examples of specific accomplishments, challenges faced and results. Include details on size and scope of departments in beds, visits, Trauma designation and employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • License /Certification
  • Required: CA RN license
  • Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer.
  • Preferred: National certification in nursing leadership.
  • Education
  • Required: BSN or MSN
  • Experience
  • Required: Five years of management experience in nursing leadership.
  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Essential
  • Directs the delivery of patient care in the areas of responsibility in concordance with the plan for the provision of care and service, and the plan for the provision of nursing care in the Kaweah Health.
  • Develops or participates in the development of patient care policies, procedures, protocols and standards which guide and support the provision of services.
  • Holds direct reports accountable for meeting standards of nursing practice and patient care.
  • Participates in nursing policy formulation and decision making.
  • Develops, implements, evaluates and, as necessary, revises the plan for the provision of care and service in assigned services areas. Contributes to, and coordinates services with, the development, implementation and evaluation of the Kaweah Health plan for the provision of care and services.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of patient care and services.
  • Provides adequate staff resources for carrying out the plan for patient care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of patient classification tools, and the Title 22 requirements related to patient classification.
  • Contributes to staff development.
  • Manages financial resources.
  • Communicates with key constituencies.
  • Ensures full integration of the Emergency Department.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area. Knowledgeable of growth and development for all patient/family cultural, linguistic, spiritual, gender, and age specific needs. Able to effectively communicate and care for patient and family as reflected in the Plan for Provision of Care.

Pay Range

$80.43 -$120.65
