About Anyon Systems
Anyon Systems is a Canadian company developing the next generation of superconducting quantum computers. We design and build complete quantum computing systems in-house, from quantum processors and cryogenic infrastructure to control software. Our mission is to bring practical quantum advantage to society, and we are expanding our team to meet the growing demand for scalable, high-performance quantum hardware.
Position Overview
Anyon is preparing to scale production and to open manufacturing plants in two additional countries. We are seeking a Director, Global Supply Chain and Procurement to lead procurement, supply planning, logistics and trade compliance across all Anyon sites, and to build the organization that will carry Anyon from one plant to three.
You will set supply chain strategy and lead the team, starting with the Procurement Manager and the Supply Chain
Planning Manager in Montreal. You will make the supply chain case for Anyon’s international expansion to leadership, the board and investors, then build each new site’s supply chain on a common global model: global policy, supplier strategy and systems, with site-level execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Expansion
Define the global supply chain and procurement strategy and the 3–5-year organization plan.
Own the supply chain sections of the investment business case: multi-site scenarios, inventory and working capital, and supply chain capex and opex. Represent them in investor due diligence.
Contribute to site selection for international plants, covering supplier base, logistics, landed cost, incentives and export-control feasibility.
Lead the supply chain workstream of each new plant launch: local team, supplier qualification, ERP rollout, inbound logistics and customs set-up.
Procurement and Supplier Strategy
Lead the procurement function, including category strategies for cryogenics, RF/microwave and control electronics, nanofabrication materials and capital equipment.
Approve major sourcing decisions, long-term agreements and capital equipment purchases within delegated authority.
Own supply risk: sole-source mitigation, second sources, strategic stock and supplier financial health.
Deliver cost-reduction programs aligned with the product cost roadmap.
Planning and Operations Integration
Lead the executive S&OP process connecting sales, R&D, manufacturing, supply and finance.
Set global inventory and working-capital targets and policies with Finance.
Work with Manufacturing and team leaders on capacity, new product introduction and supplier quality.
Logistics, Trade Compliance and Governance
Build the export-control and trade compliance program for shipments and technology transfers between Canada, new sites and existing Anyon locations (including the United Kingdom and Israel), with legal counsel.
Set up freight, customs and logistics partners for international lanes.
Set procurement policy, delegated authority, segregation of duties and audit controls, including requirements of government and research funding programs.
Lead the multi-site ERP/MRP roadmap and supply chain KPIs.
Team Leadership
Lead, develop and coach the Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Planning Manager and their teams.
Build the global and site supply chain organization in line with the expansion plan and budget.
Qualifications
A university degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
At least 12 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, including at least 5 years leading teams of managers.
Experience leading supply chain across multiple manufacturing sites in more than one country.
Direct involvement in launching or scaling a manufacturing site, including supplier development and ERP rollout.
Experience in complex, low-volume, high-value hardware such as semiconductors, scientific instruments, aerospace, defence or medical devices.
