The Job

We’re looking for a data-driven, hands-on Director of Growth & Engagement to lead paid performance marketing and app store optimization efforts. This leader will own the end-to-end growth engine—from acquisition through engagement efficiency—driving measurable impact across installs, activation, and retention.

This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, managing a small high-impact team and budget to deliver scalable, efficient growth for Bleacher Report’s digital products.

The Daily

  • Own and scale all paid acquisition channels (e.g., paid social, search, programmatic, app install networks) with a focus on CAC and LTV optimization
  • Develop full-funnel strategies to drive high-quality user growth and engagement
  • Lead budget allocation, forecasting, and pacing across channels to maximize efficiency and incrementality
  • Test and iterate on creatives, targeting, and bidding strategies to unlock performance gains
  • Partner cross-functionally to define measurement frameworks
  • Own ASO strategy across App Store and Google Play, inclusive of listing experimentation, keyword strategy, competitive positioning, and more
  • Partner with product and design to align store presence with in-app experience and growth goals
  • Manage and develop a small team of growth marketers across performance marketing and ASO

The Essentials

  • 7–10+ years in growth marketing, product marketing, performance marketing, or mobile app marketing
  • Deep expertise in paid acquisition channels and mobile attribution (Branch, AppsFlyer, etc.)
  • Proven track record optimizing CAC, LTV, and ROAS at scale
  • Strong hands-on experience with ASO tools and strategies
  • Experience managing agencies and external partners
  • Prior people management experience (direct management of at least 1–2 team members)
  • Highly analytical, with strong comfort using data to drive decisions and influence stakeholders
  • Experience in consumer apps, media, sports, or engagement-driven platforms

How We Get Things Done…

This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them at www.wbd.com/guiding-principles/ along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.
