13 The Team

Credit Ratings is part of S&P Global's Global Ratings Services, bringing together more than 1,400 analysts across leading financial centers worldwide. The Infrastructure and Project Finance practice delivers credit analysis on essential, long-lived assets and ring-fenced project financings, covering contractual frameworks, demand and operating risks, sponsor strength, and financial resilience under stress.

The North America Infrastructure Ratings team provides independent credit analysis and ratings on essential infrastructure assets and financings throughout the U.S. and Canada — spanning transportation, energy and utilities, digital infrastructure (including data centers), and social infrastructure — across both project finance structures and corporate debt, including regulated investor-owned utilities, midstream operators, liquefied natural gas (LNG) developers, and power generators.

Responsibilities and Impact

This role offers a meaningful opportunity to shape credit analysis across one of the most dynamic and strategically important segments of capital markets. As Director, the role carries responsibility for managing a diverse portfolio of North American infrastructure credits, delivering rigorous, forward-looking rating opinions that support capital formation and market understanding across rapidly evolving subsectors. The Director leads and develops a team of analysts, drives analytical quality and consistency, and engages with issuers, investors, and market participants as a credible voice on infrastructure credit — supported by a strong pipeline of new issuances and refinancings.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Talent Development

Lead, coach, and develop analysts, building credit expertise and the capability to effectively leverage digital and AI-enabled tools.

Drive adoption of modern analytical practices by embedding generative AI, advanced analytics, and automation into monitoring, drafting, research, and workflow execution — improving speed, consistency, and analytical depth while preserving human judgment and accountability.

Core Analytical & Delivery

Lead high-quality credit and capital markets analysis across assigned issuers and sectors, delivering forward-looking insights that support ratings, monitoring activities, risk assessments, and rating committee discussions in a fast-paced environment.

Translate issuer and sector developments into clear, decision-ready analytical perspectives, integrating scenario analysis and forward-looking risk considerations.

Identify and implement workflow improvements in partnership with Data, Technology, Compliance, In-Business Control, and Methodology teams to scale best practices.

Stakeholder & Market Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with issuers, investors, and market participants through credible, insight-led engagement.

Communicate complex, data-informed analysis clearly while maintaining analytical independence and objectivity.

Risk Management and Operating

Ensure strong analytical execution with clear documentation, high-quality outputs, and adherence to governance and regulatory standards.

Maintain oversight of portfolio risk to identify and escalate emerging risks early.

Apply disciplined oversight to the use of AI and automated outputs, ensuring transparency, explainability, and appropriate controls are in place.
