Role Summary:
The IIS Director, Thoracic is the strategic insights partner to the newly formed SV/FetraV launch team, with primary accountability for the US business and close partnership with global counterparts. The role owns US forecasting, long-range planning, market research, and launch planning for SV/FetraV, as well as in-line forecasting for TIVDAK, and serves as the single point of contact between the US and global SV/FetraV teams. The Director also ensures alignment of forecasting assumptions across all thoracic indications, embedding an objective, market-grounded point of view into brand planning, LRP, and executive decision-making.
This position sits within the Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) organization and acts as the integrator for all analytics-related requests across the thoracic franchise, working closely with Performance Analytics & Insights (PAI), Data Science, market research, pipeline insights, and brand teams to identify critical business issues, shape launch strategy, and optimize commercial investments. The Director is expected to synthesize insights into clear recommendations and present regularly to senior leadership.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
US Forecasting & Long-Range Planning
Lead development and implementation of complex models to produce unbiased, objective short-term and long-term US revenue forecasts for SV/FetraV and in-market thoracic products, triangulating multiple forecast approaches to assess opportunity, address key business questions, and evaluate risk
Collaborate with ICO IIS team members to ensure model is aligned across geographies
Lead US in-line forecasting for TIVDAK, including quarterly latest estimates, demand and performance tracking, and refinement of assumptions based on in-market trends
Own the US long-range planning (LRP) process for the thoracic franchise, including scenario planning and contribution to global guidance
Work with supply chain teams to ensure accurate and scenario-based demand forecasts
Ensure alignment of forecasting assumptions across all thoracic indications, and lead alignment of key stakeholders on the appropriate source of insight for each assumption
Partner with the Business Analytics (BA) team to ensure consistency of assumptions across forecasting and analytics workstreams
Actualize forecast models quarterly to set latest estimates; track forecast accuracy and key assumptions across data sources, and continuously refine assumptions based on in-market performance
Support the Franchise head in obtaining executive approval of forecast assumptions and outputs
US Market Research & Insights
Lead US market research to inform SV/FetraV launch planning, including market landscaping, customer insights, and competitive dynamics
Partner with the Pipeline Insights team on global market research, ensuring US and global insights are shared across teams
Synthesize forecasts, market research, secondary analytics, and competitive intelligence into a single, actionable strategic narrative for senior leadership
Strategy & Launch Planning
Serve as the dedicated strategic insights partner to the SV/FetraV launch team, shaping US launch strategy, growth drivers, competitive positioning, and prioritized strategic imperatives
Act as the single point of contact for the US SV/FetraV teams and ensuring alignment of strategy, assumptions, and deliverables across regions
Frame and lead strategic deep-dives on critical business questions (e.g., launch sequencing, competitive response, line-of-therapy dynamics, market shaping), bringing structured frameworks and clear recommendations to franchise leadership
Present forecast outputs, strategic implications, and trade-off considerations to senior leadership in a timely, clear, and effective manner
Analytics Integration & Cross-Functional Partnership
Serve as the integrator for all analytics-related requests for the thoracic franchise, partnering with PAI and Data Science on market landscaping and ad hoc analytics
Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning to translate demand forecasts into accurate manufacturing, production, and stock-keeping plans
Partner with Pricing and Market Access teams to inform and validate US launch pricing assumptions
Provide revenue forecasts as input to key corporate processes, collaborating with Finance, Global Value & Access, and Program Management as appropriate
Collaborate within cross-functional teams to develop meaningful solutions to business priorities, gain alignment, and enable better decision-making
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required, science or business-related focus preferred, and 8+ years of relevant experience; or MS/MBA with 7+ years of experience; of PhD with 5+ years of experience
Minimum of 5+ years in biopharmaceutical insights functions (forecasting, market research, or analytics) and/or management consulting, with demonstrated expertise in sophisticated forecasting methodologies
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical development and commercialization, including US market access dynamics and industry competitive dynamics
Superior analytical ability, strategic thinking, and excellent project management skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functionally in a matrix environment without direct authority
Excellent oral/written communication and executive presentation skills; self-starter comfortable operating with ambiguity
Experience integrating insights from disparate sources and ensuring alignment across teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Oncology experience is strongly preferred; thoracic/lung cancer market knowledge a plus
Prior product launch experience, ideally in oncology, with demonstrated ability to build launch forecasts and insights plans from early assumptions
Demonstrated experience in commercial strategy, brand planning, or strategic consulting, with the ability to synthesize insights into clear strategic recommendations for senior leadership
Experience creating and operating oncology forecasts using multiple methodologies (e.g., epidemiology-based, statistical/trend-based, patient-based)
Experience working in a strategy consulting firm, conducting analysis and market research projects
Comfort presenting to and advising senior management; ability to speak their language and respond to their needs
Ability to manage ambiguity and uncertainty, act without the total picture, and pose effective questions to identify information required for decision-making
Ability to communicate complex datasets to executive audience

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $162,900.00 to $271,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
