ABOUT GENERATION:

At Generation , we believe in the power of employment to change lives. We are a global nonprofit organization that supports adults to achieve economic mobility through employment. Generation trains and places adult learners of all ages into careers that are otherwise inaccessible, working in partnership with governments, employers, and other system actors. We also conduct original research and share data insights on high-priority global workforce transition topics to inform decision-making by workforce system stakeholders. Launched in 2015, Generation comprises a global hub (Generation You Employed, or GYE) and a network of in-country affiliates. To date, the network has 150,000+ graduates and 23,000+ employers across 50 professions and 17 countries.

When learners join Generation, 91% are unemployed, of which nearly half are long-term unemployed. Three months after completing our program, graduates have a 78% job placement rate, rising to 88% within six months. Of our employed graduates, 79% are hired by repeat employers who have previously hired Generation graduates, and 89% are in jobs directly related to the profession for which we have trained them. Employed graduates immediately earn an average of 3-4X their previous earnings. Two to five years after graduation, 77% of our alumni from upper-middle income countries continue to meet their daily financial needs and 63% can save for the future. To date, Generation’s global graduates have earned more than $1.9 billion in wages. Generation graduates typically have a secondary school background, 52% are female, 28% have dependents, and the majority identify with underrepresented communities in their country.

Position Overview:

The Director of Curriculum & Instruction (C&I), Affiliate and Partner Support oversees the Global C&I team’s program implementation, instructional strategy and strategic support model for Generation’s 17 countries and direct implementation projects.

The Director is responsible for developing and executing a clear vision for the Affiliate Support Team and directly managing and coaching a team of regional and functional Global C&I Leads to ensure they provide strong strategic guidance, problem-solving and program implementation support to affiliate C&I leaders and CXOs.

The Director serves as the primary strategic thought partner to regional and country leadership on all matters related to learning quality, instructional effectiveness, and program implementation. Through deliberate regional engagement, regular one-to-one meetings, and ongoing analysis of implementation data and learner outcomes, the Director maintains a continuous pulse on the health of teaching and learning across Generation's global network. The Director identifies emerging risks and opportunities, supports critical strategic decisions, and leads resolution of complex stakeholder, implementation, and instructional quality challenges across Generation's 17 countries and partners serving more than 20,000 learners annually.

The Director also drives the vision for Generation’s global instructor support strategy, maintaining and overseeing existing instructional initiatives, such as the Learning & Teaching (L&T) rubric, to ensure their effective implementation across all country affiliates.

Additionally, the Director works collaboratively with other senior leaders to develop processes and spearhead initiatives to improve program implementation and internal C&I team operations. The Director is a key leader on the Global C&I team and Generation’s global team more broadly. This role is a great fit for an experienced team leader with significant senior stakeholder management and program implementation support experience in multiple regions across the world.

As many Generation affiliates scale rapidly and shift toward a training-service-provider (TSP) delivery model, the Director is also responsible for sharpening the global team’s instructional strategy in the context of AI, ensuring instructional quality keeps pace with the speed and scale of that transition.

Success in this role requires balancing strategic partnership, instructional leadership, and operational problem-solving while maintaining close relationships with regional and affiliate leadership teams to ensure Generation's learning and teaching model remains effective, scalable, and responsive to local needs.

Drive the vision for Generation’s global instructor support strategy, maintaining and overseeing existing instructional initiatives, such as the Learning & Teaching (L&T) rubric, to ensure their effective implementation across all country affiliates.

Problem solve key strategic decisions/challenges and resolve major issues or escalations related to stakeholder management and program implementation for all of Generation’s 17 countries and partners.

Join calls with external stakeholders (including employers, funders, governments, etc) to secure key projects and resources and/or represent Generation’s C&I methodology upon request.

Design and implement a monitoring and evaluation plan - including quarterly affiliate pulse surveys and comprehensive end-of-year surveys - to track measurable indicators of global C&I support health and strength (e.g., satisfaction scores, support utilization, and confidence ratings) across country affiliates and projects.
