Engineering Leadership

Lead engineering strategy, architecture, and technology delivery for Trade & Working Capital Solutions platforms. Drive end-to-end product development lifecycle (PDLC) execution (with hands on experience) across multiple engineering teams. Provide hands-on leadership in solution architecture, application design, and engineering excellence. Lead the development of highly scalable platforms serving large global enterprise clients. Drive modernization initiatives leveraging cloud technologies, digital assets, AI, and emerging technologies. As a senior tech leader well aware of risks, controls and productivity/efficiency metrics along with managing largescale programe delivery for the multimillion-dollar portfolio.

Site Leadership

Act as the Chennai technology site lead for the TWCS organization. Provide leadership and oversight for an organization expected to grow to approximately 150 employees . Directly manage senior engineering leaders with an immediate span of approximately 50-75 professionals . Drive talent strategy, organizational growth, employee engagement, and leadership development for the Chennai location.

Core technology leadership role supporting Citi's market-leading Trade & Working Capital Solutions organization. Focus on platforms supporting global corporate clients ranging from large enterprises to multinational organizations. Responsible for engineering capabilities powering critical trade and supply chain finance products.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• •Proven experience leading large-scale global engineering organizations and platform ownership from design to production
• •Demonstrated success managing senior engineering managers and directors.
• •Strong stakeholder management across business and technology functions.
• •Experience owning multi-million-dollar technology portfolios and budgets.

Technical Expertise

Strong engineering background in:

• •AI Driven API orchestrated microservices also expertise in migrating legacy code to modernized platform/ ecosystem
• •Distributed systems and microservices architecture
• •Cloud platforms and cloud-native application development
• •Enterprise architecture and solution design
• •Large-scale transaction processing systems
• •Platform engineering and Platform-as-a-Service models

Emerging Technology Exposure

• •Agentic AI / AI-driven engineering solutions
• •Digital assets
• •Engineering productivity and tooling/automation initiatives
• •Blockchain technologies (preferred)
• •Cryptocurrency ecosystem (preferred exposure)

Engineering Excellence

• •DORA metrics adoption and measurement
• •SDLC/PDLC transformation
• •Engineering quality and performance optimization
• •Modern software delivery practices
• •Agile engineering leadership

Qualifications:

• •18+ years of relevant experience
• •8-10+ years of managerial experience
• •Working knowledge of the industry and competitors’ products and services
• •Advanced knowledge of strategic direction of the function within relevant part of the business
• •Demonstrated leadership, management, and development skills

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Master’s degree preferred
