About Morning Consult
Morning Consult is a global decision intelligence company changing how modern leaders make smarter, faster, better decisions. The company pairs its proprietary high-frequency data with applied artificial intelligence to better inform decisions on what people think and how they will act.
This role is available in any of our office locations or can be based remotely. Our award-winning and modern offices are located in Washington, DC; Chicago, IL; and New York, NY.
Join us in the office for catered lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, or grab a beverage from the fridge for an impromptu after-work happy hour!
The Role
Morning Consult is hiring a Director, Product Marketing to set product marketing strategy for our data and AI-powered products — and to give the company a sharper, more proactive point of view on where our category is headed before someone else writes that narrative for us.
How this role leads. You own the strategic layer of product marketing: positioning, launch strategy, and competitive point of view, tracking the market 6–12 months out so Morning Consult shapes the conversation rather than reacting to it. Content, campaigns, and enablement are the outputs of that strategy — you set the direction, and you manage the team that carries it out. You'll be judged less by whether materials shipped on schedule and more by whether Sales leadership trusts your read on the market, and whether our narrative differentiates us before we're forced to react to someone else's.
What You'll Be Working On
Set product marketing strategy for Morning Consult's full product portfolio — positioning, messaging, and go-to-market narrative, from foundational value proposition through individual launch narratives.
Build and maintain a forward-looking view of the market and competitive landscape, and convert what you see into a proactive point of view for how Morning Consult shows up — before competitors force our hand.
Lead major product launches and announcements end-to-end, in partnership with Product leadership: define the strategy, align cross-functional stakeholders, and own the outcome, not just the launch date.
Serve as the credible, trusted voice of product marketing to Sales leadership — build the kind of relationship where your read on positioning and market timing genuinely changes how deals get run, not just what's in the deck.
Own competitive intelligence for the organization: know what competitors are saying and doing before the rest of the company does, and set the standard for how we differentiate against it.
Partner with Demand Generation, Growth, and Content to turn positioning into the campaigns, collateral, and enablement that actually move pipeline and adoption.
Represent product marketing in conversations with executive leadership on category strategy and market positioning, carrying real authority to shape those decisions, not just report on them.
Partner with Product so that market and customer insight actively shapes the roadmap, rather than following it after the fact.
About You and What You've Done
8–12+ years of experience in product marketing at a B2B SaaS, data, or intelligence-driven company, including meaningful time setting portfolio-level positioning and go-to-market strategy — not just individual product launches.
Experience managing a team: hiring, coaching, and setting the operating standards a function runs on.
Demonstrated ability to lead major product launches end-to-end, from strategy through cross-functional execution and post-launch measurement.
A track record of earning credibility with Sales leadership, where your positioning and market read change how deals get sold — not just what's in the sales deck.
Strong competitive and market intelligence instincts; comfortable synthesizing scattered market signal into a clear, differentiated point of view ahead of the market rather than in reaction to it.
Experience translating complex, data-driven, or technical products into narratives that resonate with senior, non-technical buyers.
A strategic, big-picture orientation — genuinely energized by shaping direction and setting the strategy, rather than only executing against someone else's.
Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior and executive stakeholders.
Depth in market research, data-as-a-service, or consumer/data intelligence go-to-market is a strong plus — several of our most important narratives sit squarely in that territory.

It’s expected that you’ll learn and grow throughout your time at Morning Consult, so if you’re open to building new skills, we’d love to hear from you.
