Overview

Mistplay is the loyalty platform for mobile gamers. Players earn real rewards for playing games on Android and iOS, game studios pay us to acquire players who stay, and our LoyaltyPlay offerwalls extend that economy into other publishers' apps. A rewards economy can sometimes attract people who want the rewards without the play, and the ways they try keep changing: device farms, emulators, multi-accounting, referral abuse, account takeover, spoofed playtime and purchases, and low-quality traffic on the supply we sell to advertisers.

AI has changed the nature of that fight. Attackers now use it to generate accounts, mimic real play sessions, write convincing appeals and automate offerwall completions at a scale and speed that rule-based defences were never built for. We believe the answer is to be better at AI than they are. We're looking for a leader who will build stronger detection, prevention and mitigation, including through the use of AI: agents that triage and investigate, models that learn faster than attackers adapt, and tooling that lets a small team cover a large and shifting surface.

You will be accountable for our fraud strategy, our fraud roadmap and the metrics demonstrating ongoing and improved fraud prevention the company runs on, and you'll report on all three to the Senior Leadership Team and the board. You won't do it alone. You'll work in a tight coordination with our Fraud Analytics Manager and an Engineering Manager, who bring the analysts and engineers; together you define the roadmap, and you are the one accountable for landing it, working with Product to get it into plans and shipped.

This is a hands-on role in the sense that matters: you'll be in the data, running investigations, prototyping detection logic, shaping enforcement policy and running the response when an attack hits. It starts as a senior individual contributor position, and we expect it to grow: as the function matures there is room for this person to take on direct reports.

What You'll Be Doing

Own the fraud strategy and roadmap. Keep a clear, current picture of where we're exposed and what it costs, decide what we tackle this quarter and next, and turn that into a roadmap the Fraud Analytics, Engineering and Product teams commit to. Bring new features, offers and reward mechanics through an abuse review before they launch, and push back when something isn't ready.

Be the accountable owner of Mistplay's fraud metrics. Define how we measure loss, prevalence and false positives, make sure the numbers are trusted, and deliver regular updates on our fraud posture, strategy and progress to the Senior Leadership Team and the board.

Lead detection and enforcement work with the Fraud Analytics and other cross-functional teams. Set the investigation agenda, dig into live attack patterns alongside the analysts, prototype the rules and models that stop them, and hand clean specs to engineering to productionise. Own the enforcement ladder, from warnings and holds through to account and device bans, and the appeals policy behind it, so that real players aren't the collateral. You’ll also work cross-functionally with our commercial and marketing teams to ensure coordination and resolution with our clients and our marketing channels.

Stand up fraud on-call and incident response. Build the on-call rotation and the incident response playbooks and procedures for fraud events, with clear severity levels, escalation paths and communication to the business. When an incident happens, run it: contain the attack, coordinate analytics, engineering, support and finance, and keep leadership informed. Afterwards, own the post-incident review and report, and make sure the mitigations that prevent a repeat get prioritised and shipped.

Protect the quality of what we sell. Set traffic-quality standards for LoyaltyPlay and our third-party offerwall publishers, decide how we score and act on publisher-level fraud, and own the install-quality story we tell advertisers, including how we handle disputes.

Make the function AI-native. Bring LLM and coding agents into day-to-day fraud work, from triage and evidence gathering to first-pass investigations, with people making the final enforcement calls. Help the analytics team adopt them, and keep an eye on AI-driven abuse as a threat in its own right.

Own our platform and vendor choices. Decide how we use Play Integrity, App Attest and our MMP's fraud tooling, evaluate device-intelligence and bot-detection vendors against measured results, and make the call on what we buy.

Influence across the company. Fraud touches Commercial, Marketing, Engineering, Product, UA, Supply, Support, Finance and Legal. You'll be the person who keeps everyone clear on what good looks like and what they own, without needing formal authority over any of them.

What We're Looking For

10-12 or more years in fraud, risk, trust and safety or anti-abuse, much of it at a consumer platform, mobile ad network, MMP or rewards business. You've personally dealt with several of the threats above and can talk in detail about what worked and what didn't.

Comfortable and current in the data. Strong SQL, enough Python to prototype and analyse, and a track record of designing detection logic that ran in production, even if someone else deployed it.

Sharp analytical and critical reasoning: you can size a loss, weigh it against the cost of a control, and make a call you can defend to a CFO.

Experience owning a fraud or risk strategy and roadmap, and presenting it to senior leadership or a board.

You've run fraud or security incidents end to end, ideally having set up the on-call and incident response process yourself, and you can show how your post-incident work stopped the same thing happening twice.

Proven ability to get things done through teams you don't manage, and to partner well with analytics and engineering leaders who do.

AI-forward in practice: you use LLM and coding agents in your own work, you've applied AI to detection or investigation before, and you have a grounded view of where it helps and where a human has to decide.

Working familiarity with Play Integrity, App Attest or DeviceCheck, MMP fraud suites and the device-intelligence vendor landscape.

Strong communication and collaborative skills, including strong follow-through.

Nice to have: Rewarded gaming, offerwall or incentivized UA experience; Databricks or Spark; graph or link analysis; mobile client security knowledge; prior people management or a desire to grow into
