The District Manager is accountable for achieving company objectives, performance standards, and operating expense goals for multiple markets within a defined geographical Northeast District territory within North America. The incumbent is responsible for servicing customers within the territory and managing and performing diagnostic and mechanical repairs within the region, including operations, customer relations, quality, safety, and security. Essential Job Duties
- Recruits, trains, coaches, and motivates qualified staff
- Develops and directs all General Managers to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Comply with all safety standards and requirements to ensure a safe and hazard-free workplace
- Develops and executes account planning strategies to increase sales by maintaining or growing existing business as well as capitalizing on new business opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws, statutes, and regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures.
- Establishes accurate budget projections and works within the designated budget.
- Manage key performance indicators relative to productivity and inventory control.
- Focuses on continuous improvement and makes recommendations on programs to improve operations
- Audits operations to ensure service and safety standards are being met
- Travel minimum 50% monthly within outlined District.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
- Education & Experience:
- High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent required. College degree preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience related to the automotive industry
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 6+ years of experience in a specialized profession or equivalent.
- 3+ years of management experience
Preferred Requirements
- Master’s Degree
- Proficient use of variety of automotive service and diagnostic equipment such as Moto Logic & Identifix.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and Powerpoint presentations to support business objectives.
- Frequently communicates complex information across departments and interacts with management. Can present, resolve and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others.
- Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents and practices.
- Decisions impact the management and operations within a department or business unit. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
- Provides and sets goals and priorities for functional area. May make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs. Makes decisions for and/or resolves problems for others.
- Prioritize, organize, and oversee task and projects: responsible for outcomes.
- No additional competencies required.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently.
- Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
