Internal Control makes sure that the way the company works is defined, followed and documented. The area works on two fronts. As second line of defense, it independently assesses whether controls across the company operate as designed, under the COSO 2013 framework and SFC standards. As process owner, it runs process management, normative documentation and corporate document management, which together hold the evidence of how the company operates.

Challenges that await you:

Bringing consistency to documents produced by different areas, each with its own format, coding and versioning habits, without disrupting the teams that use them every day.

Applying archival discipline in a fully digital environment. Almost all of Plata’s documentation is electronic, so classification, retention and preservation have to work through repositories, metadata, permissions and integrity controls.

Working against deadlines set by others. When the SFC, a court or an auditor requests information, the response time is fixed and the document has to be found in its correct version.

Managing the line between keeping and deleting. Holding a document beyond its retention period creates exposure under data protection law, and deleting it early creates regulatory risk. You will manage that line series by series.

Influencing without authority. Most of the documents you will govern are produced by Legal, Compliance, Risk, Product and Technology. Getting those teams to follow a classification and versioning discipline takes as much persuasion as technique.

What makes you a great fit:

Bachelor's degree in Ciencias de la Información, Bibliotecología, Archivística, Sistemas de Información y Documentación or a related programme. We will also consider a related degree combined with a certification or demonstrable experience building classification schemes and retention schedules.

1+ years of experience in document management, records management or institutional archives, including at least one instrument you built or substantially reworked yourself.

Working knowledge of Colombian archival methodology, including Ley 594 de 2000 and Acuerdo 004 de 2019 of the Archivo General de la Nación, and the judgement to adapt it to a private entity supervised by the SFC, where retention periods come from financial, commercial and data protection law.

Hands on experience with at least one electronic document or content management platform such as SharePoint, Google Workspace, Alfresco, M Files, OnBase, DocuWare, Athento or Confluence, including permissions, metadata and version control.

Advanced Excel for inventories and retention schedules.

Advanced English, B2 or higher. You will work with documentation, systems and counterparts in English on a regular basis.

Ability to read a regulation and turn it into a rule that someone else can follow, written in clear Spanish.

Valued: experience in regulated financial institutions, knowledge of ISO 15489 (records management) and ISO 30301 (records management systems), and experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections.

Our ways of working:

Innovative Spirit: A commitment to creativity and groundbreaking solutions.

Honest Feedback: valuing open, transparent communication.

Supportive Team: a strong, collaborative community.

Celebrating Achievements: recognizing our wins together.

High-Tech Environment: a team full of smart and revolutionary people who date to challenge the status quo of incumbent finances.
