Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Role Tasks & Responsibilities

Warehouse Management:

• •Take responsibility for end-to-end process of tasks undertaken from receiving to shipping, ensuring own knowledge of all products and regulatory environment is understood and complied with.
• •Receive and check stock from vendors, customers, internal shipments etc completing appropriate paperwork during process.
• •Put away stock in designated areas, recording locations during process.
• •Complete cycle-counts on a regular basis to ensure that the inventory is correct, and the products are in-house.
• •Pick and check stock for vendors, customers, internal shipments etc., completing appropriate paperwork during process.
• •Assist system accuracy by providing/checking important information regarding transfers of stock and investigating cycle count inaccuracies for customer accounts.
• •Engage with Customer Service to ensure accurate recording of information and activity.
• •Adhere to any specific customer processes and procedures.
• •Support the development of processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.
• •Contribute to a safe, accident-free, working environment by abiding by all safety procedures and policies.
• •Coordinate business activities with other departments and locations to ensure smooth and efficient business execution.
• •Understand warehouse layout and space availability and suggest improvements.

Driving:

• •Deliver and collect product according to instructions from Customer.
• •Complete and return all POD’s and back up paperwork to Customer Service.
• •Ensure customer material requests are delivered on time.
• •Alert management on all potential delays/shortages/issues etc.
• •Ensure that all freight is secure during transit.
• •Ensure tachograph/driver card is fully operational and used in accordance with legislation.
• •Carry out daily checks on vehicle.
• •Engage with Customer Service to ensure accurate recording of information and activity.
• •Take breaks as per the professional driver’s rest period guidelines.
• •Adhere to the rules of the road at all times.
• •Connect and disconnect trailers from cab when needed.

Facilities & Machinery & Security:

• •Responsible for the safe operation of machinery in the warehouse environment.
• •Carry out daily checks on the machinery.
• •Report facilities issues and machinery defects to Management/Facilities Department.
• •Report vehicle issues/defects to Management/Transport Manager.
• •Accommodate servicing of vehicles and machinery as required by Facilities Department.
• •Ensure vehicles are parked in a safe and secure location, and that vehicle is locked when not in use.
• •Report security breaches to Management/Facilities Department.
• •Carry out regular cleaning of exterior and interior of vehicles.

Queries & Complaints:

• •Respond quickly, professionally, and accurately to customer inquiries regarding orders, status complaints etc.
• •Conduct investigations with Customer Service Dept/Quality Dept. to satisfy customer inquiries.
• •Assist with the identification of the cause of a customer complaint and remedying the underlying issue of the complaint in conjunction with other departments.
• •Escalate inquiries/complaints to the appropriate manager and/or department when necessary.
• •Non-conformance reporting in accordance with the KPI’s.

Health & Safety:

• •Support the health, safety, and welfare of all staff.
• •Responsible for reporting accidents and near misses to Management/H&S Team.
• •Responsible for reporting health and safety concerns, issues, and ideas to Management/H&S Team.
• •Collaboration with Health and Safety Team.

Administrative Responsibilities:

• •Champion quality assurance protocols.
• •Maintains communication with the support departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and legislation.
• •Completes and processes necessary reports and paperwork accurately and timely.
• •Log customer activity for business purposes as required.
• •Actively contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the team, through reviewing procedures to meet expectations of service and conduct and improve on own self development.
• •Support other departments in relation to customer activity data.
• •Other ad-hoc administration duties as required.

What You Bring:

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Skills

• •Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, management, and other teams in the company.
• •Attention to detail.
• •Excellent organisational skills to balance and prioritise their workload and meet deadlines.
• •Ability to safely operate warehouse machinery and equipment.
• •Ability to safely drive large vehicles e.g., Rigid/Artic Truck.
• •Team worker with the ability to collaborate with other material handlers.

Experience

• •Previous experience in a similar role.
• •Previous experience in supply chain and logistics/warehousing.
• •Previous driving experience is a distinct advantage.
• •Experienced user of warehouse machinery e.g., forklift, power pallet truck etc.

Education/Licences

• •Clean, B/C/CE Licence.
• •Driver Card with up-to-date CPCs.
• •Machinery Certification – Forklift, Reach Truck, Power Pallet, Combi etc.
• •Leaving Certificate or similar qualification.
• •Where educational/licence requirements are not fulfilled prior extensive experience of successful performance in the role will be required.
