The Events & Entertainment Lead will assist in the operation of events, shows, character interactions, and atmospheric entertainment to complement parkwide content and increase overall guest satisfaction.

We are currently looking for a:

Dutch Wonderland Inn Hospitality Crew Lead Supervisor

Roles & Responsibilities:

Supervisory Duties:

· Lead and motivate a team of Events & Entertainment hosts to successfully execute planned events that delights our guests and create memories worth repeating.

· Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members

· Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests.

· Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all assigned events-related positions and backfill these positions when needed

- ‎Become knowledgeable of all Dutch Wonderland characters and support the team in maintaining the consistent illusion of their role.

· Participate in new-hire orientation, training activities and rehearsals for all assigned employees

· Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with PA law

· Comply with all federal and state labor laws (e.g. Child Labor laws, PA Entertainment Waivers)

· Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities

- ‎Enter attendance metrics, etc. to daily show log

· All other duties assigned by leadership

Departmental Duties:

· Assist with the execution of performances and activities as designed.

· Organize costumed characters, props and any other physical space needs in assigned areas adhering to set and/or show schedules

· Assist with coaching a team of performers in acting techniques that will bring realism and excitement to the event’s theme

· Perform duties of a character escort, which include facilitating interaction and communication between character and guests.

· Assist character performers with getting in and out of assigned costume.

- ‎Be prepared and trained to take on any appropriate character and Entertainment position as a backstop for unplanned emergencies to ensure that events and activities happen as scheduled.

· Provide solution-based ideas to quickly and creatively resolve problems

· Support the team’s daily activities

· Execute backstage tasks as outlined

· Ensure that all safety and procedural protocols are being followed throughout event

· Continuously monitor the event to identify any potential threats or hazards escalate any issues to the proper park authorities in a timely manner

· All other duties assigned by leadership

Language : Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Education & Experience:

· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

· Previous work experience or training in the areas of shows, acting, choreography, or performance events is a plus

· Some level of customer service experience is helpful but not required.

Requirements:

· Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with PA Child Labor Laws

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and open to close.

· Must be able to work nights up to 12 AM (midnight) during certain events

· Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift

· Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner

· Ability to handle high-pressure situations in a positive and professional manner, meet the demands of constant deadlines and coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

· Must possess and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability and desire to participate in delivering successful and high-quality events

· Ability to follow direction, multi-task, handle stress, and work as part of a fast-paced team

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday

· Ability to remain sedentary for periods of time, while using a computer

· Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders

· Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 50 pounds or more

· Ability to safely climb or descend stairs and/or ladders

· Ability to perform in costumes that may have limited sight lines

Working Conditions:

· Frequent exposure to outdoor and indoor areas of the property

· Extended work hours during event preparation and execution may be required

· Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions

· Subject to frequent interruptions, changing priorities, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments
