Department Overview

The EC Consulting Department is a division that works on the front lines of Rakuten Ichiba as a partner to merchants, helping them grow their sales.

Within this department, the “Merchant Growth Section” (established in September 2025) is a team that specializes in supporting merchants who are in the early stages of growth after opening their stores on Rakuten Ichiba.

Our role is to work closely with merchants—not just those with high sales, but also those looking to take their businesses to the next level—and provide hands-on, collaborative support to help them achieve new successes together.

Position Details

You will be responsible for maximizing the appeal of stores operating on Rakuten Ichiba and providing the following consulting services:

・Identifying and Analyzing Challenges: Utilize Rakuten’s big data to identify challenges facing the stores under your responsibility (approximately 100 stores).

・Strategy Development and Proposals: Propose sales strategies unique to Rakuten Ichiba, including the development of sales plans, campaign planning, ad management, and page optimization.

・Ongoing Support: Work closely with store owners to jointly implement the PDCA cycle toward achieving goals.

*We offer comprehensive on-the-job training after joining, providing an environment where even those with no prior experience can learn the necessary skills.

Work Environment

The Store Growth Division currently consists of approximately 60 employees.

The ratio of new graduates to mid-career hires is roughly 50-50, and employees from a wide variety of industries—including apparel, finance, beverage manufacturing, and English conversation schools—are thriving here.

Mandatory Qualifications:

・At least 2 years of professional experience

・Sales experience (B2B or B2C) or experience in sales management and operations in the distribution or retail industry

・Tenacity in pursuing goals and the ability to make logical proposals

Desired Qualifications:

・Chinese language skills (to enhance support for Chinese-owned stores)

・Knowledge of and operational experience with e-commerce platforms and online advertising

・Experience in planning and executing marketing initiatives
