The big picture: Axios is a modern media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are hiring a Politics Enterprise Editor to help set the agenda for Axios’ political coverage and deliver distinctive, high-impact journalism.

Why it matters: The most important stories aren’t always the most obvious. We're looking for a creative, ambitious editor who can spot the trends others are missing, connect the dots across beats and help turn smart ideas into must-read coverage.

Go deeper: In this role, you’ll make an impact through the following responsibilities:

Generate distinctive enterprise ideas and work with reporters to turn them into stories that break through.

Work across the politics team and the newsroom to connect the dots between beats and identify opportunities for collaboration.

Worthy of your time: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills:

Reporting experience in a fast-paced news environment.

Demonstrated experience landing big scoops and conceptualizing big ideas.

Strong writing skills for online and newsletters.

A belief in Smart Brevity as the core writing style of Axios.

A commitment to building and nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment.

Ability to command a stage and conduct live interviews.

Experience working across teams to produce quality content.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $150,000 - $200,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
