Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2240P01 and is part of the IL 182 AW, National Guard.
Duties
As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), WG-2610-12/13, you will install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on multi-complex electronic integrated systems, to include operational checks, inspections, tests, troubleshooting, and LRU removal and replacement. Install serviceable components into aircraft and perform total systems alignment and harmonization in accordance with technical orders and directives. Adjust, align, calibrate, and inspect sensors, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, computers, and related avionics components. Maintain, modify, calibrate, and inspect user test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) and related support equipment. Install, modify, overhaul, maintain, repair, rebuild, align, and calibrate complete electronic avionics multi-systems control to ensure proper operation. Trace and isolate unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and associated specifications. Follow drawings for multi-system complexes to determine effects of subsystem changes and identify required adjustments for integrated subsystems. Interpret schematics, logic diagrams, and wiring diagrams to identify faulty parts, determine repair sequence, and conduct bench checks of LRUs and SRUs. Apply technical data, equipment specifications, and engineering drawings to determine the impact of equipment modifications or substitutions on multi-system operations. Review and analyze maintenance data and diagrams to determine adequacy of troubleshooting/repair procedures and recommend corrections as required. Isolate malfunctions through analysis of fault codes, waveform observations, voltage/current indications, power readings, computer registers, and printouts. Troubleshoot operational malfunctions using aircrew debrief data, built-in system tests, technical orders, test equipment, and system-specific analyzers. Test and troubleshoot solid-state electronic assemblies, circuit cards, modules, control amplifiers, integrated circuits, and electro-mechanical assemblies. Analyze system performance and monitor interrelated systems to propose preventive maintenance downtime, system adjustments, or component overhaul. Determine required repairs by evaluating equipment failure trends and recommending changes to improve system operation or reliability. Use a wide variety of electrical hand tools and automatic test equipment (ATE, FLTS, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, alignment tools, digital pitot-static testers, etc.) to perform maintenance and verify repairs. Perform alignment, calibration, testing, programming, reprogramming, assembly, and reassembly of LRUs, SRUs, and multi-system components. Perform intricate component alignment and calibration on ECM equipment, chaff/flare systems, navigation systems, and automatic flight control components. Apply algebraic and trigonometric formulas to adapt standard calculations and complete multi-system alignment, power relationships, and signal phasing requirements. Accomplish technical order compliance, complete system checks, document maintenance actions, process repairable assets, and configure mission-essential electronic warfare/avionics equipment.
