Embedded Software Integrator and Validator (SwIV)

Location: Tubize #LI-ONSITE

As an Embedded Software Integrator and Validator (SwIV), you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of Thales’ embedded software solutions. Your mission will focus on integration, verification, and validation of embedded software components, ensuring they meet technical specifications and performance requirements.

You will collaborate closely with software and hardware developers, system engineers, and validation teams to identify and resolve issues, ensuring seamless integration and validation of embedded systems. You will report to the Embedded Software Team Leader and work in a dynamic environment where precision, innovation, and teamwork drive success.

Your Mission:

Software Integration:

  • Integrate embedded software components into target systems (e.g., microcontrollers or embedded Linux).
  • Ensure correct interaction between software modules.

Verification & Testing:

  • Design and execute verification tests to ensure software components meet their specifications.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects.
  • Collaborate with developers to analyze root causes and verify fixes.

Automation & Tooling

  • Develop and operate tools for automated testing and result analysis to support efficient test processes.
  • Actively drive the continuous improvement of test automation and toolchains.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Work in Agile/Scrum environments, participating in sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Support continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for embedded software.
  • Contribute to process improvements in testing methodologies, tools, or automation (e.g., Python, Robot Framework).

What We Are Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
  • Preferably 3 years in embedded software integration, verification or development.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded software integration and testing (automated and manual).
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Rust, scripting (Python, Bash), and debugging tools (JTAG, GDB).
  • Familiarity with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr), asynchronous frameworks (Embassy, RTIC) and Linux.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams (software, hardware, systems).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Languages: Fluent English (written and spoken); French or Dutch is a plus.
