Job Summary

The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) supports physicians and nursing staff in providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced emergency room setting. This role assists with patient care, performs basic clinical procedures, and ensures the department operates efficiently while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• •Assist nurses and physicians with patient care, treatments, and procedures
• •Obtain and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.)
• •Perform basic clinical tasks such as EKGs, blood draws, splinting, wound care, and specimen collection (as permitted)
• •Transport patients to and from diagnostic areas or inpatient units
• •Monitor patient conditions and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• •Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization in the ED
• •Stock and restock medical supplies and equipment
• •Assist in emergency situations, including CPR and trauma response

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• •High school diploma or equivalency required
• •Clinical experience in an acute care-nursing environment preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
