Northrop Grumman's Propulsion Systems is currently seeking an Energetics Manufacturing Engineer at our Kennedy Space Center facility in Florida.

Job description:

As a KSC Energetics Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible to ensure the readiness of all Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Production Support Equipment (PSE), Special Tooling, and facility manufacturing support related assets for production of solid rocket booster components. Examples of equipment include (but is not limited to) environmental controls, cranes, lifts, doors, pneumatic systems, electrical/electronic/control systems, clean rooms, work stands, lifting equipment, pressure vessels, transportation dollies, hydraulic tube benders, and abrasive blast equipment. All systems are held to very high standards due to our stringent manned spaceflight requirements and the hazardous commodities we process.

You will work with Process Engineers and Operations personnel to develop processing plans that optimize resources and meet delivery schedules. You will support maintenance, refurbishment, and repair activities on NASA equipment.

Additionally, you will also interface with customers, management, safety, quality vendors and sub-contractors.

Much of the work will be authoring, reviewing, closing and revising work documents using Maximo software such as Corrective Maintenance (CM) and Tool Discrepancy Reports (TDR)s. You will be expected to obtain detailed knowledge of the different systems and equipment through time on the floor, become familiar with preventive maintenance (PM) work documents and requirements along with drawing reviews. Work will also be coordinated thru Operations, Scheduling and Safety.

Responsibilities:

• •Maintain a safe work environment for Operations personnel, other Northrop Grumman employees, contractors, visitors, and customers at the Booster Fabrication Facility and Hangar AF complexes.
• •Using Maximo, generate planning to maintain Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Production Support Equipment (PSE) and Special Tooling, including Corrective Maintenance (CM), Tool Discrepancy Reports (TDR), Tooling Change Notices (TCN) and track to completion.
• •Abide by all safety protocols: government and Northrop Grumman, and coordinate work with Operations, Scheduling, Quality, Environmental and Safety.
• •Support all flight hardware processing in a timely and efficient manner as a top priority.
• •Coordinate, integrate, and schedule maintenance and upgrades with Flight Hardware Assembly Operations
• •Support periodic status meetings with Production Operations leadership for cross-communication with the entire Northrop Grumman Team(s) and escalate issues whenever necessary.
• •Lead/participate in continuous improvement activities for KSC Operations
• •Author corrective maintenance documents (CM), (TDR) through the use of Maximo software.
• •Expected to trouble shoot, repair, and resolve urgent equipment issues quickly and efficiently.
• •Support the repair and maintenance of equipment by interfacing with suppliers, purchasing and contracting departments, and operations to procure replacement parts and vendor repair servicing as required.

Basic Qualifications:

• •BS degree in Engineering, or other related field required.
• •Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience or a Masters Degree with 0 years of experience.
• •Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• •Strong skills in both short and long term planning methods.
• •Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Presentation skills and ability to clearly communicate initiatives, plans and expectations.
• •Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment through drawing review: Mechanical/Electrical.

• •Show participation in in continuous improvement initiatives in the key areas of Safety, Quality and Efficiency.
• •Able to interpret Mechanical and Electrical drawings: requirements, standards, tolerances, parts replacements, and engineering orders (EOs).
• •Must be able to work flexible and changing shift schedules; day or night shifts, including weekends if necessary.
• •Proficient in creation of documents using Microsoft Office suite products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Preferred Skills & Experience

• •Facility or GSE/PSE, Tooling related experience.
• •Experience working with NASA, military, or other government agencies.
• •Experience working in an aerospace environment.
• •Background in mechanical equipment troubleshooting/repair.
• •Maximo Software experience/background.
• •Familiar with current Industry Safety Standards and able to implement into work documents.
• •Must be a self-starter possessing ability to work with minimal direction/guidance.
• •Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems a plus.

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,000.00 - $109,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
