Summary:
Engineer is responsible for keeping the hotel running smoothly and looking sharp. They will facilitate simple day-to-day repairs, long-term fixes, and are responsible for being proactive in maintenance-related issues.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor boilers, chillers, pumps, compressors, and other stationary equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and equipment to identify needed repairs
- Maintain and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems throughout the hotel
- Respond promptly to guest requests for maintenance assistance, including after-hours emergencies
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and appearance of hotel grounds and exterior features such as swimming pools and parking lots
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including use of protective equipment and proper disposal of hazardous materials
- Live up to high safety standards – follow guidelines and tell your supervisor about any incidents, dangerous conditions or unsafe equipment
- Always keep an eye out for improvements – follow the preventative maintenance calendar and keep everything working and efficient at all times
- Work closely with other engineering and maintenance staff to coordinate activities and contribute to a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Be a friendly face and helping hand to our guests
- Be ready to take on extra duties as and when the team needs you
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Preferred 1-2 years Hotel Engineer Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in stationary engineering is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Stationary Engineer, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Proficient in the operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC systems, Electrical and other stationary equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently or constantly to carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
- Ability to reach overhead, utilize both hands, to bend over and to stoop and kneel.
- Ability to operate various types of maintenance equipment.
