This role is essential for designing, implementing, and deploying scalable software solutions that meet customer requirements and support high-availability environments, including automation of provisioning, configuration, testing, monitoring, and issue resolution across Core and IP Services. The role involves collaborating with engineering teams to develop software components using technologies such as virtualization, microservices, software-defined networking, and network functions virtualization. This position requires independent development of full software stacks and an understanding of system protocols, data flows, and technology interactions. Success is measured by the ability to deliver production-ready technical solutions, apply sound engineering judgment to AI-assisted development, produce clear documentation, and contribute to technology strategy and innovation. The work impacts the organization by enabling advanced software systems that improve operational efficiency and support business goals.

WHAT'LL YOU DO

You'll help build intelligent automation solutions that support T-Mobile's critical Core and IP network services. Working at the intersection of software engineering, network automation, and AI, you'll develop and integrate software across IT and network systems to simplify operational workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve reliability. Your work will help move intelligent automation from experimentation into real-world production environments.

  • Build software that powers the network. Develop and integrate microservices, APIs, and automation solutions supporting network provisioning, configuration, testing, monitoring, and issue resolution across Core and IP Services.
  • Build with AI, engineer with judgment. Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, and problem-solving while applying strong software engineering fundamentals to review, validate, and take responsibility for generated code.
  • Deliver reliable, production-ready solutions. Develop, test, and validate software through established CI/CD processes, ensuring code quality and addressing issues related to your changes in collaboration with production support teams.
  • Advance intelligent operations. Contribute to AI-enabled workflows that detect issues, recommend solutions, and support automated actions with appropriate safeguards, validation, and human oversight.
  • Grow your technical expertise. Collaborate with experienced software, network, and AI engineers while developing skills that support future opportunities in senior engineering, architecture, and technical leadership.

OUR TEAM & CULTURE

We're a collaborative, engineering-driven team that brings together expertise in software development, network operations, and artificial intelligence. We encourage curiosity, experimentation, and new ideas while maintaining high standards for quality and reliability.

You'll work with engineers who openly share knowledge, challenge existing approaches, and support one another in solving complex technical problems. Because our automation supports critical network services, we balance innovation with thoughtful engineering, testing, and operational responsibility.

HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED

Success in this role means delivering reliable software that makes network operations more efficient, scalable, and dependable. Your contributions will support measurable improvements across Core and IP Services.

  • First 90 days: Build familiarity with the team's codebase, engineering practices, and automation environment, progressing toward independently developing, validating, and delivering a production-ready software feature.
  • Engineering quality: Develop well-tested, maintainable software while applying sound judgment to AI-assisted development and validating generated code before production deployment.
  • Automation impact: Help expand automation coverage, reduce manual effort, accelerate network deployments, and minimize operational errors.
  • Production reliability: Deliver software that meets established quality standards and investigate and resolve issues related to deployed changes.
  • AI adoption and impact: Contribute to moving AI-assisted capabilities into production to improve issue resolution, operational efficiency, and reliability.
  • Collaboration and growth: Work effectively with engineering partners, share knowledge, solve technical challenges, and demonstrate increasing independence.
