✨ Why This Role Matters

Scribe’s desktop apps and browser extensions capture the workflows behind our products. As our customers deploy Scribe across larger and more complex environments, reliable capture becomes essential to their success.

We’re looking for a QA Engineering Manager to lead our QA team and help enterprise customers roll out Workflow Mapping, the foundation for our next-gen product line, with confidence. You’ll develop the team, set our QA roadmap, and be a trusted voice on quality and release readiness across engineering and customer-facing teams.

📌 About the Role

You’ll manage an existing, distributed team of QA engineers and shape how we test across Mac, Windows, Chrome, and Edge. Your work will span release validation, customer-environment reproduction, and the processes that help Engineering, Product, Design, and Customer Success deliver reliable deployments together.

This role calls for an experienced manager who can set direction, coach others, and get into the technical details when needed. You’ll work directly with customers and their IT teams when an issue calls for it, then turn what you learn into repeatable testing and better rollout practices.

🛠️ What You’ll Do

Lead and develop the team. Coach QA engineers, set clear expectations, give actionable feedback, and support their performance and career growth.

Own the QA roadmap. Prioritize testing and tooling around customer impact, balancing release speed with reliability.

Lead quality through enterprise rollouts. Partner with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to define readiness, surface risks early, and navigate deployment issues.

Build repeatable reproduction capabilities. Help the team recreate customer environments, isolate failures, validate fixes, and prevent regressions.

Improve how we test. Combine exploratory testing, targeted automation, and engineering-owned coverage to address risks in performance, session persistence, authentication, and capture correctness.

Make quality understandable. Communicate evidence, uncertainty, and next steps clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders, including customers.

🧩 What Makes You a Great Fit

You’ve managed QA engineers and driven meaningful improvements in quality at a high-growth technology company.

You have a strong record of coaching people, managing performance, and building a team that takes ownership.

You’ve recreated customer environments to reproduce difficult issues and verify fixes before release.

You can turn product and customer risks into a practical QA strategy, with clear priorities and evidence of results.

You’re comfortable leading conversations outside engineering, aligning stakeholders, and explaining technical trade-offs to customers.

You bring sound technical judgment, stay close to the work, and help others solve problems independently.

You handle ambiguity calmly and know when to investigate further, escalate a risk, or move a release forward.

Experience with desktop apps, browser extensions, enterprise device management, security software, or authentication is especially relevant. Experience leading a distributed team is also valuable.

🌎 Location

This is a remote role for someone permanently based in the United States. Eastern Time Zone preferred.
