Engineering Squad Lead, Avaloq

DBS Tech China is hiring a deeply technical, hands-on engineering leader to drive key wealth management initiatives and investment journeys. This role is suited to a strong full stack engineer who can own a stream end to end, lead one or more engineering squads, and stay close to architecture, design, and implementation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• •Lead end-to-end architecture and solution design for Avaloq Banking Suite, translating business requirements into scalable and robust banking solutions.
• •Act as the technical lead for one or more Avaloq delivery squads, driving engineering excellence, platform stability, and solution quality.
• •Design and implement scalable solutions using Avaloq scripting, PL/SQL, Avaloq object modeling, workflow configurations, and extension frameworks.
• •Partner closely with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and operations teams to translate business requirements into robust Avaloq solutions.
• •Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, security standards, risk controls, and regulatory requirements.
• •Oversee integration design across Avaloq and surrounding banking platforms through APIs, middleware, messaging systems, market data providers, and third-party applications.
• •Contribute directly to complex incident resolution, production stability improvements, and platform optimization initiatives.
• •Perform parameterization and customization in Avaloq Core Banking Platform
• •Analyse business requirements and design / propose software solutions
• •Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable code to ensure best possible performance and quality
• •Provide technical expertise and support for internal and external stakeholders
• •Mentor and coach team members
• •Assist project / programme managers in project planning & project strategies

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• •5+ years of hands-on Avaloq Core Banking Platform development experience with successful delivery of multiple Avaloq implementation, enhancement, or transformation programmes.
• •Deep expertise in Avaloq Core Banking Platform, including architecture, functional modules, customization, parametrization, scripting, object modelling, workflows, and configuration frameworks.
• •Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills, with proven experience designing and optimizing database solutions within Avaloq environments.
• •Proven track record leading Avaloq solution design and technical delivery across multiple product domains, workstreams, or programmes.
• •Experience leading engineering teams or technology domains within banking, wealth management, or private banking environments.
• •Strong understanding of private banking products, wealth management processes, and core banking operations.
• •Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with business, operations, technology, architecture, vendors, and senior leadership.
• •Ability to balance strategic architectural decision-making with hands-on technical leadership and delivery execution.
• •Strong communication, mentoring, and coaching skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
• •Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
