## Important information for applicants from abroad

In Germany, the profession of Ergotherapeut/in is regulated. Before working under the professional title, applicants generally need recognition of their foreign qualification and authorization to use the professional title.

  • Qualification recognition: The responsible authority depends on the German federal state where you intend to work.
  • German language: Employers and recognition authorities may require German proficiency. B2 is a useful target, although the exact requirements can vary.
  • Visa and relocation: Requirements depend on your nationality, qualifications, and circumstances.
  • Job opportunities: Hospitals, rehabilitation centres, private therapy practices, care facilities, and paediatric therapy centres may recruit international professionals.
