Oak Essentials was founded by tastemaker Jenni Kayne, renowned for her namesake lifestyle brand. After years of perfecting her own clean routine, Jenni set out to create a new approach to self-care—one rooted in nature and inspired by the indulgence of the spa. Oak Essentials offers a meticulous edit of clean skincare, body care, and fragrance products designed to transform daily rituals into moments of elevated simplicity and luxury.
Oak Essentials Malibu Spa is seeking a licensed esthetician to join the team at our new Malibu location. This is a treatment-room role centered on facials, with select body treatments, where you'll speak knowledgeably about the Oak Essentials products used in each service and help guests continue their results at home.
We're looking for a candidate with a current esthetician license, hands-on treatment experience in both facials and some body work, a passion for clean, results-driven skincare, and the confidence to recommend products as a natural extension of the service. This role suits someone who thrives in an intimate, high-touch luxury environment and is committed to a consistent weekly schedule — this is not a fill-in or occasional-visit role.
This is a part-time role of 15–33 hours per week.
Role & Responsibilities
Perform facial s and select body treatments using the full Oak Essentials product line, following spa protocols.
Confidently and authentically communicate the Oak Essentials brand story, formulation philosophy, and ingredient technology to every guest.
Recommend the products used in each treatment and build take-home routines for guests based on treatment outcomes and skin concerns.
Support retail through in-treatment product recommendations; this role is based in the treatment room and does not staff the retail floor .
Educate guests on product benefits, ingredient technology, and personalized at-home routines during and after treatments.
Maintain a consistent, recurring weekly availability to support predictable scheduling for guests and the spa calendar.
Ensure a premium brand experience and presentation at all times.
Build strong relationships with repeat guests to support rebooking and retail reorder.
Submit visit/service recaps and retail performance notes to support business tracking.
Qualifications and Requirements
Active esthetician license required (California).
Experience performing facial treatments in a spa setting, plus some body treatment experience (e.g., exfoliations, wraps).
Experience in luxury spa, skincare, or prestige beauty retail preferred.
Ability to confidently speak to and recommend the skincare products used in treatment; retail recommendation experience is a plus .
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both guests and leadership.
Comfortable with digital platforms for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset — this is a small, growing team and the right person helps shape how the spa runs.
Reliable, recurring weekly availability (specific days/hours to be discussed) — this is essential and non-negotiable for the role.
