The University of Miami, Division of Enterprise Marketing and Communications, has an exciting opportunity for a full time Event Planner to work in Coral Gables, FL.

  • The Events Planner oversees all aspects of planning meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, lectures, and other special events for the assigned department(s). Furthermore, the Events Planner assumes responsibility
  • for ensuring all amenities and accommodations at the event are adequate.
  • Plans and executes events within timeline and budgetary constraints.
  • Manages event registration and check-in for event guests and volunteers.
  • Coordinates the purchase, inventory, and organization of event materials.
  • Upkeeps event and team meeting calendars.
  • Provides recommendations to upper management regarding vendor, venue, and food services.
  • Acts as liaison to vendors and external entities.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
  • Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.

Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
