Job Description:
Executive Client Partner
Director level - Copenhagen
Overview
As an Executive Client Partner, you'll lead a portfolio of our most strategic client relationships and be the senior partner our clients turn to when they shape their digital and customer agenda. You'll own the commercial success of your portfolio, open doors to new divisions, markets and capabilities, and orchestrate the client teams that turn ambition into measurable business outcomes.
Beyond your portfolio, you'll be a visible face of Merkle in the market. You'll take part in new business meetings and pitches, and contribute to externally facing initiatives that build our brand and relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Client leadership and growth
Own and grow a portfolio of strategic client relationships, with full accountability for revenue, margin and growth targets
Act as trusted advisor to senior decision-makers, from VPs and directors to the C-suite (e.g. VP Marketing, VP Digital, CMO, CIO), shaping their customer, data and commerce agenda over a multi-year horizon
Set the long-term strategy for each account and execute multi-year growth plans that expand our footprint across divisions, markets and capabilities
Originate and lead large, cross-capability opportunities from first conversation to signed contract, including pitches, proposals, business cases and complex negotiations
Proactively bring clients a point of view on their industry, competitors and the opportunities ahead, before they ask for it
Commercial ownership
Own the commercial health of your portfolio: contract structures, pricing models, forecasting accuracy, profitability and risk
Shape commercial models that align our success with client outcomes, including retainers, programmes and value-based structures
Orchestration and partnership with Delivery
Orchestrate senior experts across Merkle and the wider dentsu network to bring the full breadth of our capabilities (data, CX, commerce, technology, media) to each client
Work in close partnership with our Delivery leads and teams to keep client goals, scope and commercials aligned
Stay close to client satisfaction and handle escalations together with Delivery when needed
New business and market presence
Take part in new business meetings and pitches, bringing senior client experience and credibility to prospective clients
Contribute to externally facing initiatives such as events, thought leadership, client communities and industry networks
Share client and market insight internally to help shape our offerings and go-to-market
Qualifications
12+ years in digital consulting, agency or technology services, including 5+ years in senior client leadership roles
Proven track record of owning and growing a client portfolio of 20M+ DKK, including expanding into new divisions, markets or capabilities
Experience originating and closing large, multi-capability engagements with senior decision-makers at VP and C-suite level
Deep commercial acumen: P&L ownership, pricing, negotiation, and building business cases that tie investment to client value
Strong understanding of how clients make money, and the ability to connect customer, data and commerce initiatives to their business results
Broad knowledge of the customer technology landscape (e.g. Salesforce, Adobe, SAP, CDP, and commerce platforms) and how to create value from it
Strong ability to influence and mobilise colleagues across capabilities
Experience from new business pitches and comfortable representing the company externally
Executive presence and excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge senior stakeholders constructively
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating clarity for clients and teams
Fluent in English; Danish and an established network in Nordic enterprises are strong advantages
What We Offer
Clients and work that matter: a portfolio of strategic clients, and a seat at the table in new business and the conversations that shape our growth in the Nordics
The full breadth to grow your clients: data, CX, commerce, technology and media in one integrated company, with capabilities recognised as leading by industry analysts
A global network with local roots: one of Denmark's leading digital agencies, with offices in Copenhagen and Aarhus, and part of Merkle's 16,000+ people in 30+ countries and the wider dentsu network
Room to grow: continuous learning and development, and opportunities across the global Merkle and dentsu network
Flexibility and balance: hybrid working and flexible hours
An inclusive, collaborative culture where ideas are valued and everyone is welcome
Competitive salary and benefits. Your recruiter will share the full package
