Executive Manager Group Strategy

Group Strategy is responsible for developing and driving a coordinated strategic agenda across the CBA Group, while reinforcing the bank’s purpose and values.

Your team

Group Strategy is a group of high-capability and high-agency individuals from a range of professional services backgrounds.

Your responsibilities

As Executive Manager, you will report to a General Manager of Group Strategy and have responsibility to:

Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key internal and external stakeholders who may contribute to, influence or be impacted by the Group’s strategy.

Lead / execute projects end-to-end from initial framing of the problem, through to synthesis of relevant insights and development of high-quality solutions.

Foster a collaborative and high-performing team, including developing junior members of the team and fostering a great culture.

Support the Group Strategy Leadership Team to drive the strategic agenda of the bank and deliver on Group Strategy-specific initiatives (e.g. AI adoption and tooling).

Adhere to the Code of Conduct . The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people

Your skills and experience

Several years of experience in one or more of the following: (i) strategy consulting; (ii) corporate finance; (iii) policy, (iv) venture building or (v) technology and data analytics.

Advanced written communication skills, especially as pertains to development of succinct and thoughtful papers for Executive and Board audiences.

Strong command of quantitative analysis, e.g. building analysis to estimate profit pools for banking customer segments and products.

Ability to take ownership of complex strategic questions, with demonstrated structured problem-solving capability and hypothesis-led thinking and analysis.

Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills.

Exposure to the financial services sector is a plus, though not required.
