Description
Anchorage, AK | Mercedes-Benz | European automotive | BMW | Audi | Volvo | Porsche | Flat-rate | Experienced technician | European brand experience required | Alaska | Veterans encouraged to apply | $30 - $45/hr flat rate
IS THIS YOU?
You're an experienced technician with a strong European brand background -- Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Volvo, Porsche, or similar -- and the diagnostic foundation to transfer your platform expertise to a new badge
You work with precision and consistency, you hold a low comeback rate, and your quality standard doesn't slip under volume or pressure
You're ready for a stable, well-paying flat-rate role in Anchorage where Alaska's demanding conditions make the technical work genuinely challenging and your expertise directly serves a community that depends on it
WHO WE ARE
Swickard Auto Group is a hospitality company that happens to sell and service cars. We believe the best guest experiences start with the best employee experiences. That's why we've grown to 40+ rooftops across the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii while maintaining a culture built on one simple idea: do right by people, every time.
Mercedes-Benz of Anchorage serves one of Alaska's most active luxury automotive markets -- a loyal guest base whose vehicles face some of the most demanding operating conditions in the country. Cold starts, extreme temperature swings, and heavy seasonal use push European platforms hard and create diagnostic work that rewards technicians with genuine depth. Mercedes-Benz experience is a plus but not required -- if you know European platforms and you know how to diagnose them accurately, we want to talk.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Diagnose and repair Mercedes-Benz and European vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, advanced electrical, HVAC, and beyond -- using OEM diagnostic tools and procedures
Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors to support guest authorization and maintain transparency
Execute repairs to OEM specifications with speed, accuracy, and consistent quality -- no shortcuts, no comebacks
Document all diagnostic findings and completed work accurately on repair orders -- precise records protect the guest, the store, and your professional reputation
Stay current on Mercedes-Benz technical service bulletins, software updates, and manufacturer repair procedures as you develop platform familiarity
Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
2+ years of technician experience on European brand vehicles -- Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Volvo, Porsche, or similar platforms required
Mercedes-Benz experience a strong plus -- XENTRY/DAS familiarity and MBZ factory certifications reflected in rate
Strong diagnostic foundation with a track record of accurate first-time repairs and a low comeback rate
Comfortable performing a full range of repairs across electrical, mechanical, and drivetrain systems on European platforms
ASE certifications a plus -- not required
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
WHAT WE OFFER
$30 - $45/hr flat rate -- rate reflects your European platform experience, diagnostic depth, and MBZ certifications
Progressive pay plan -- MBZ factory certifications and tenure increase your rate over time
Paid Mercedes-Benz manufacturer training and certification support
401(k) plan
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
Life insurance and supplemental coverage options
Paid time off and paid holidays
Clear career path -- strong technicians grow into senior tech, shop foreman, and service management roles at Swickard
Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts
WHY MERCEDES-BENZ OF ANCHORAGE
Alaska's operating conditions -- extreme cold, heavy seasonal use, rough terrain -- create diagnostic complexity that is genuinely challenging and rewards technicians with strong European platform fundamentals and real problem-solving depth
European brand experience transfers directly to the Mercedes-Benz platform -- your BMW, Audi, or Volvo background gives you a diagnostic and electrical foundation that applies from day one, with paid MBZ training to close the gaps
Anchorage is a close-knit community where your neighbors are your guests -- the technician who takes care of people's vehicles here earns loyalty and reputation that lasts
Swickard is one of the fastest-growing dealer groups in the country -- ranked Top 5 in North America for reputation in the automotive industry
Our HEART values -- Honor, Engage, Anticipate, Respond, Thank -- shape how we treat our technicians and our guests in equal measure
If you're an experienced European brand technician with the diagnostic depth, the quality standard, and the professional foundation to thrive at a well-run Anchorage Mercedes-Benz store -- Mercedes-Benz experience or not -- we'd like to meet you.
