Extrusion Operator Assistant

Job Summary

We are looking for an energetic, and detail-oriented individual to fill our Extrusion Operator Assistant role. The Extrusion Operator Assistant will assist in machine set-up for orders, safely help operate machines to production target, waste, and quality standards. Help with troubleshooting machine when it is down or not performing to standards. This position reports to the Department Supervisor.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• •Assist in setting up machine to specifications outlined on the order
• •Assist in setting up machine to standard time and procedure
• •Helps operate machine within standard production targets and waste limits
• •Assists in troubleshooting machine when down or not performing to standard
• •Assists maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance
• •Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System
• •Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member
• •Ensures work area is kept clean according to facility and corporate standards
• •Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met
• •Supports and maintains all activities related to Food Safety System (SQF), such as machine center cleaning schedules, checklists, and audits
• •All other activities as assigned by department manager

Requirements

Minimum Position Qualifications/Requirements:

• •Experience in a manufacturing environment
• •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with a diverse audience at various levels
• •Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• •Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• •Detail oriented and commitment to follow through to completion.
• •Strong interpersonal skills; Strong team player
• •Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• •Manufacturing experience preferred

Preferred Skills/Qualifications & Education:

• •Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• •Self-directed and independent with strong communication skills
• •6-12 months of plastics, extrusion, or related industry.

• •Education and Experience:
• •High School Diploma required.

• •Employees may be required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• •Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.
• •Must be able to spend extended time sitting on a forklift.
• •Must be physically capable of spending long hours outdoors or in a warehouse environment.
• •Ability to perform general to advanced machine maintenance
• •Must be “fit for duty”.
• •Able to walk a minimum of 5,000 steps per day.
