Job Description Summary:

The Department of Neurology at The University of Kansas Health System and University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a full-time academic cognitive neurologist to join the Memory Care Clinic and the KU Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC), an NIA-designated center. This clinician-investigator faculty position combines subspecialty memory care with clinical trials and research in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

Clinically, the neurologist will evaluate and care for patients with cognitive disorders in the Memory Care Clinic, including biomarker-informed diagnosis and anti-amyloid therapy. They will also help extend that expertise statewide through virtual visits and eConsults with rural primary care partners. This statewide work is part of KU's growing virtual campus (supported by the Patterson Grant) and the state-funded Kansas Brain Health Assessment Network. Both bring specialty cognitive care to regions of Kansas that currently have no practicing neurologist.

In research, the neurologist will serve as an investigator on ADRC clinical trials, as site principal investigator or sub-investigator, and contribute to the center's collaborative research programs. They will have mentorship and resources to develop their own areas of scholarship. The position includes teaching and mentoring of students, residents, and fellows, with faculty rank commensurate with experience.

This is a 1.0 FTE position with a balanced clinical and research role.

  • Collaborate with local primary care providers to guide diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Pursue research funding, publications, and the expansion of ADRC research.
