You'll provide high-quality family dispute resolution and property settlement mediation, supporting clients to develop parenting plans and property agreements while ensuring safety, fairness and the needs of children remain central to the process.

Your opportunity
Working within our Community & Mission team and reporting to the Program Lead/Senior Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, you'll manage family dispute resolution matters from initial assessment through to completion.
You'll undertake comprehensive assessments and preparation with clients, identifying issues such as domestic and family violence, safety concerns and power imbalances before determining whether mediation is appropriate. You'll facilitate equitable participation between parties, help clients work through impasses and support them to develop parenting plans and property agreements within the relevant legal framework.
With integrity and resilience, you will:
· Deliver high-quality family dispute resolution and property settlement mediation services.
· Manage client matters from assessment and preparation through to completion, including appropriate case planning and documentation.
· Undertake comprehensive assessments, including identifying domestic and family violence, safety concerns and power imbalances.
· Facilitate impartial and equitable mediation, helping clients generate options, negotiate agreements and work through impasses.
· Support separating families to develop child-focused parenting plans and appropriate property agreements.
· Issue Section 60I certificates where required and make referrals to legal, specialist, educational and other appropriate services.
· Maintain accurate client records and ensure practice meets organisational, legislative, professional and funding requirements.
What you'll brin g
You're an experienced and compassionate practitioner who can remain calm, impartial and focused when working with people navigating highly emotional and complex family circumstances.
You bring strong mediation and conflict resolution skills, excellent judgement and the ability to recognise safety concerns and power imbalances. You understand the importance of giving both parties an equitable opportunity to participate while maintaining a strong focus on the wellbeing and needs of children.
You'll also bring excellent active listening and communication skills, emotional intelligence, reflective practice and the ability to work sensitively and confidentially with vulnerable clients.
What's required:
· Tertiary qualification in Law, Psychology, Social Work or equivalent.
· Qualification that enables registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
· Current registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
· Previous counselling and/or mediation experience, with an emphasis on working with children and families.
· Demonstrated commitment to child-focused and child-inclusive practice.
· Current NSW Driver's Licence.
· Ability to maintain ongoing professional requirements associated with FDRP accreditation.
· Ability to meet Anglicare's probity requirements, including a Police Check and Working with Children Check.
