Your Opportunity

For someone experiencing family and domestic violence, the hours after police attendance can be overwhelming. Fear, uncertainty and concern for their children often remain long after the immediate crisis has passed.

As a Family and Domestic Violence Liaison Officer, you will be the person who helps bring clarity, safety and support during some of life's most difficult moments.

Working as part of the Pilbara Family & Domestic Violence Coordinated Response Service (CRS), you will partner closely with WA Police, Child Protection and other community agencies to identify and support people at high risk of harm. Based in Karratha, this is an on-site position where you will provide trauma informed assessments, safety planning, advocacy, referrals and case coordination to help individuals and families build safer futures.

This is more than a case management role. It is an opportunity to empower people, strengthen community connections and ensure victim survivors receive the timely support they need to move forward with confidence.

This is a 7-day-a-week service, requiring weekend coverage as part of a rotating roster.

Your Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct assessment and triage of domestic violence incident reports in collaboration with WA Police and Child Protective Services, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

· Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop safety plans using the Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework.

· Respond promptly to urgent client safety needs, providing crisis‑focused intervention and support.

· Deliver home visits, community outreach, advocacy, and case coordination for victims and their children, usually over a 6–12‑month case period.

· Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders including police, courts, child protection, women’s refuges, and specialist FDV services.

· Participate in interagency meetings, steering committees, and forums to share information, contribute to best practice, and advocate for the needs of families affected by violence.

· Adhere to all internal and external policy and procedural requirements, including confidentiality, duty of care, OH&S, and statutory compliance.

Requirements for Success

· Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in the Family and Domestic Violence, child, youth, or family services sectors.

· At least 1 year of experience working within FDV services, with confidence in case management and trauma‑informed assessment processes.

· Strong local knowledge of, and respect for, ATSI communities, peoples, and cultural protocols.

· Demonstrated ability to quickly assess client needs and apply sound judgement in high‑risk situations.

· Excellent communication, time management, networking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.

· Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative multi‑agency team.

· Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required as part of a rotating roster.

· First Aid certificate is desired but not mandatory.

· Full driver licence with no restrictions.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.

To ensure our employees feel valued, empowered, and celebrated, we provide a range of employee benefits including:

· Rewarding work – every day you know you’re making a real difference
