As a Fiber Splicer I, you will work alongside experienced team members to install, splice, test, and maintain fiber optic infrastructure in both aerial and underground environments. This position offers hands-on experience, opportunities for professional growth, and the chance to work on projects that directly impact the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables in aerial and underground network environments.

Perform fiber optic troubleshooting and restoration activities to maintain reliable customer service.

Utilize testing equipment, including OTDRs and power meters, to verify network performance and identify issues.

Read and maintain fiber records, splice diagrams, and project documentation.

Assist with fiber construction activities, including cable placement, pole transfers, conduit work, and enclosure installations.

Follow company, OSHA, and industry safety standards while performing all work activities.

Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition.

Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

1-3 years of experience in the broadband industry with fiber optic cabling and splicing experience desired.

Basic knowledge of fiber optic construction, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.

Experience using fiber testing equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, or similar tools preferred.

Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. CDL preferred or ability to obtain if required.

Ability to read and interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, and network records.

Ability to work overtime, emergency call-outs, on-call rotations, and occasional travel as needed.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.
